If you find the beheadings appalling please sign the petition.

Nikolas

I almost threw up... (saw the youtube video).

This is terrible. (And before we start on what else is terrible in the world, etc, it is terrible, and senseless and totally stupid, moronic, etc)

Nightfable

I didn't watch it, animals are too dear to my heart and it would shatter my good mood and bring horrible graphic flashes throughout the day. I saw a twelve year old muslim boy behead a man with a knife once and it scarred me for life.

I did sign the petition.

Nacho

Oh... Evo Morales followers... Need to say more?  :P
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Nine Toes

I didn't bother to watch the video, I just can't watch that kind of stuff.  Not just because I love animals, but severed heads make me want to vomit.

But I did sign the petition.

This stuff of you expressing throwing up is so ironic. There are lot more other animals dieing in lot more worse way every day, and that is because you want good food, leather and medicines.
I am just a shallow stereotype, so you should take into consideration that my opinion has no great value to you.

Yes... We need food, leather and medicines.

Not showing our approval to a communist analphabet idiot.

right...

Because this is aimed at me (since I mentioned throwing up) I might as well answer (as Nacho did before me):

next time, mate, that you need to base your argument somewhere, instead of talking take a couple of dogs and kills them, like this. This should be what everybody does.

Or even better, next time you want to LIVE, by eating meat (not that it is necessary 100% but let's face it, it is food), don't kill a lamb, or a chicken, even if they are treated ok in life.

Or even, even better, next time you lose someone you love because the medicine has not been discovered or tried, or whatever, think about the poor pig.

As I said...

Rrrrright...

EDIT: By all means I'm not saying that I'm ok with animals being misstreated in any way, but I'm certainly not ok for animals being killed for NO REASON!

I don't wish to take sides here, but Nikolas has gotten me annoyed now!  :P

Taken from the KFC wiki:

"Several PETA undercover investigations and videos of these and other KFC suppliers purport to show chickens being beaten, ripped apart and thrown against walls which contradict KFC's claims.[22] There have been more than 12,000 demonstrations at KFC outlets since 2003 because of this alleged mistreatment of chickens by KFC suppliers."

Which if true, is just as bad as these dog beheadings.

EDIT: Oh, you edited your post Nikolas. So if the dogs were beheaded and then eaten, you'd find that more acceptable?  :-\

Two dogs - drama. Media needs to live too, you know.
Millions of dogs - statistics.

Oh, and food? Do you actually know how many food goes into waste, just even before it reaches into supermarkets? More than half of the food produced is FOR NOTHING.

We don't necessarily need leather, do we?  To me, it seems like more of a luxury than a necessity.  But unfortunately we can't live without food or medicine.

I think there's a kind of irony in the petition itself.  If these people are such brutal, dangerous "savage indians", I could see them laughing and wiping their ass with a copy of it, especially since they're supported by the government.

Matt:  Doing all of that to a chicken, that will be eventually be slaughtered to make food, is cruel and unnecessary.  But still, it's a fact of life, we need food to live.  Even if it's disgusting swill like KFC.

Nacho: lol

Radiowaves:  Well, let's think about this - you slaughter a cow for food.  Once you've stripped away all of the muscle for steaks and hamburger, then you're left with the guts and the bones.  The heart is a large, tough muscle and is commonly used for food, as well as the liver.  The intestinal lining is used for sausage casings.

I suppose the tongue or the brain is served as food in fancy restaurants, or the brain is used to make headcheese, but I don't know of anyone who actually eats that.  The lungs could be used for haggis, but again, I don't know of anyone who actually eats that.

I don't know if the kidneys are used at all, as well as the testicles/ovaries/reproductive system, or the stomach.  I sure as hell would not eat the bladder or the colon.

Many of the leftover organs that aren't, or can't be sold as food for us can be ground up and made into dog food, but then again, I'm sure there are certain things that even dogs can't/won't eat.

After all that, you're left with the skin and any hair, fat, the blood, the bones, and lot of ligaments and tendons.  That makes up more than half of the animal, I'd say.  I don't know about you, but I'm not eating any of that stuff.

Nikolas

Ok!

This is ridiculous.

simply, read what I think:

Treating badly animals: Not nice, no matter why.
Killing animals: To feed yes almost necessary. To dress, not necessary in my books, to test medicines, almost necessary, to simply prove a point IDIOTIC

Do you see anything wrong, or ironic with the above statements really? I mean, yes, I do like my meat, I'm not a vegeterian end of story, no reason to going there. I MAINLY eat organic food and chicken which means free range chicken, MATT (as least as far as I know) and I've never been to KFC really, which I hate. I do oppose such treatment to any animals even for food, or whatever. I see NO reason to dress (and kill the animal), but I don't mind getting wool (they don't kill the sheep do they?) and for medicine, yes I don't oppose experiments on animals for medicine not cosmetics.

This is where I stand. Just in case you've not realised it yet. So, if you are to reply to any post, reply to this one please.

Okay Nikolas, you didn't make that clear to me in your post, and perhaps you realised this and put in an edit, but I'd already posted by then!

Although I don't really agree with you on certain factors, I can see it from your point of view.

Nine Toes: If a tribe is out in the wild, and they must hunt otherwise they will not have enough food to survive, then I can understand why. But you don't need to eat it to survive in the society you live in, so don't give me that excuse. I understand it that you'd rather live on meat than alternatives, and I am not going to tell you to not eat it, and you won't tell me to eat it!  ;)

Matt: Well don't get me wrong, I'm not strictly carnivore, I eat vegetables as well.  And yeah, you're right, I don't need, or actually like KFC.  I'd actually rather eat something I raised and harvested/slaughtered myself, than something corporate and processed.

I didn't understand what your point was before, but I can understand it much better now. :)

Stupot

The kiiling of animals for food is an entirely different debate altogether.
Some people, myself included, enjoy a good meat dinner and would prefer be blissfully ignorant of what goes on behind the close doors of the farms and factories.  It's not always easy with moralist spoilsports trying to ruin your day by filming it and making documentaries and protesting outside KFC.  I'm not saying I don't regret that the animals are mistreated, I'm just saying I'd like to enjoy my food without being told 'The Awful Truth' every time I'm about to take a bite.

Yeah, and I'm sick of people asking me a million questions on why I'm a vegetarian when I'm spotted quietly eating a vegetarian meal at every lunch break, when I haven't even mentioned anything about their eating habits.

Goes both ways Stupot! I'm not saying you do that.  :)
