I am not a game maker but I truly am a huge indiegame fan, I have read this book that i would believe to be very useful to some of you guys, the link is below.
http://www.gamemaker.nl/feldman.html
The book is called Designing Arcade Computer Game Graphics and it is written by Ari Feldman and is free for downloading.
I hope you`ll find this useful.
The chapter about colours would probably be more helpful and easier to understand if it wasn't in black and white.
Apart from that, it seems like a comprehensive and extensive guide all right. I'll take another look later.
what's discouraging is how mediocre the art of the artist is. Call me old-fashioned but I expect a high level of artistry from a person who elevates himself to the position of a teacher.
There's a reason it was taken out of print :)
I don't get why the online version is B&W. It's hard to see what some of the images are supposed to represent.
Still, it's quite technical, so maybe the text is useful. And hey, it's free.
