Title: Wall-E Fan Game (by me!)
Post by: markbilly on Wed 06/01/2010 22:53:34
I thought I'd share this with everyone here... :)

I made it for my girlfriend a while back and I don't think I'll be doing anything else with it. I didn't want it to just waste away on my hard-drive.

I put it in General Discussion as I didn't think I'd get away with it being in completed games. It just a tech demo, basically.

There are no puzzles or anything, just enjoy interacting with Eve and some rubbish! ;)

Darn cute :D (and I haven't even seen the movie  8))

Nice animations especially, good work!

Cool little demo, lovely animations. Not too keen on the sprite scaling.  :=

Very cute.  :)
My two suggestions:
- Some music for the scene would be nice. Just anything from the soundtrack would work.
- I kind of feel that there should be only one plane of movement. I think that the scaling detracts from the immersion and to have Wall-E move only horizontally would look nicer.

Nice job!

Thanks for all the lovely comments. :)

I'm not really sure how horizontal movement alone would work. I understand the issue with sprite scaling though, it is annoying.

Did everyone find all the animations?

Nice little demo, I'm a big fan of Wall•E. I had some trouble with inventory cursors (not sure where the crosshair was supposed to be), and after Wall•E has stacked up the rubbish cubes they appear as strange blocks when he goes behind the pile.

And I have to disagree about one plane of movement. It might be awkward in some situations, but it could become really boring if the player couldn't explore further afield. I would love to see this extended into a short scenario!

Animations were very well thought out and pleasantly executed.  As this is not the Critics Lounge that's all I have to say, though I'd like to see this made into a complete game.

I think we can get away with some critique in general discussion... ;)

And so would I! If I had the time, I would...
