Hey all,

I just put my website into the whole kinda ready stage. I'm using php-nuke and I was hoping a few people would tell me how it looks so far. The url is dfinch.maverickhost.us

Thanks!

hard to comment on a PHP-nuke page -_-

They are all the same basicly :/

Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with PHP-nuke, theres just not much to comment on.

I completely agree, that is one thought I was having even before I posted here. Is there a good content management system that may not look so generic? Or is there a specific style of website that may look better?

Theres nothing really to comment on. No acutal content, pretty generic, and I see no purpose to the website. What is it that you and your "Web Team" do?

Warmer pages are overrated and really should only be used with flash or java based sites.

I was going to suggest canning the splash screen as well.

The top of the screen ... the thin 'bar' up there ... it seems a little unnecessary.Ã,  Seems like it doesn't quite fit it (to me).Ã,  I would remove that and let the blank area bump up against the top of the screen.

There are some really bad jaggies (on my screen at least) where the orange areas are and the metal angles into it.

Some of the graphics seem blurry ... are you using HTML to resize them.Ã,  I would advise against this.

The design itself isn't all that bad, a bit 'similar' I might say, but certainly not bad.Ã,  Once you fill it up with actual content I think it'll work a little better.

What is the purpose of the site?Ã,  Is it a 'Linux' thing?

Yeah it was supposed to be a linux-entertainment site. I was thinking about redoing the site in HTML with a slide in menu from the left and having the content displayed in a table in the center of the page. The only part that would be extremely noticably generic would be the forums (as they would remain phpbb). Does that sound like a better idea? Also, to address the splash screen, I didn't even want it. It was just there to make an anchor to penguinland. If I redid it in HTML then there would essentially be no splash screen.

Finally, If you're wondering why I chose PHP-Nuke its simply because I'm great with coding but have NO sense of creativity.

Well, I like the Matrix-esque Japanese characters in the title on the website.
