Heh. This is big news! As a big fan of archeology, paleontology and history I find this most interesting. Why didn't anyone think of Ireland? How did Plato know about Ireland? Where are my socks? These are all big questions, Give me more answers! If Ireland indeed IS this advanced society that Atlantis is claimed to be, then where are the ruins, or are there ruins? I'm tired...

Mr Jake

God... imagine what yufster will be like when she finds out.... We may need to sedate her.

LGM

If yufster is an Atlantian.. No wonder they dissapeared thousands of years ago.. :-p

"I am amazed no one has come up with this before, it's incredible," he told Reuters.

I know why no one came up with it before, they were looking for LEGITIMATE locations, that's why.  This guy reminds me of that Von Doniken dude from the 80s that went to prison for falsifying mummy remains or something.

Ahhhh, so THAT's what all those orichalcum beads are doing in my grandmothers sewing drawer.

It's a load of bullshit, but it's an amusing load of bullshit.

Has anyone seen that episode of Family Guy where I think Peter has this odd flashback about ireland being super advanced (with flying cars and all), and then some irish scientist invented alcohol and it all fell apart?  ;)

The news story reminds me of that.

As much as a tale is always a tale, and how unlikely it may sound, most myths and tales derive from things that seem insignifact and far-fetched nowadays.

I don't think there's anything that makes the ireland theory less implausible than any other theory (even though some replies in this thread implies further insight in the field of archeology), and I don't think it's far-fetched enough to be called ridiculous.

Mr Jake

I dont think its too far fetched from reading the article.

Meowster

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahaHAhahAHaHAHAHAHahahAHAHA!!!

That's funny because, apparently, there is a lost city in my back garden. Not joking. There is supposed to be an ancient village located somewhere around where I live, that reaches under our fields.

Haha! Now who is laughing, eh?! You people from the Land of America!? Or I!? From the Lost City of Ireland!!!!

HAHahAHaha!!!

Mr Jake

Meowster

JEALOUSY! JEALOUSY!

Am I Irish!? No! I am ATLANTEAN!!!

HAHAHahhaHAhahaHaha!

We don't have broadband yet, in Atlantis...

DMonkey

It would appear that more Atlanteans live in the Land of America than in the Lost City of Ireland.

Take that!
Who cares what the catch is, it's the flying car!

Mr Jake

soon the Ferries will have special 'Indiana Jones Cruise nights' during the trip to Ireland

Yufster, with this mystery revealed, I think you should keep your eyes out for people trying to build odd machinery in your backyard. Especially if they have a curious german accent and like to wave Lugers around a lot.
