For example
[link removed] on this site i signed up 4 one offer that was free, and my mates did, i got an iPod..but why do they bother making sites like that? Seems pointless...
From Monkey Man
It isn't. They make mucho money off that from the advertisements of the different companies. There are even sites that give away free laptops, but even the 900 dollar or so laptop doesn't hold a candle to the money they make from all the companies that pay to have them link to them.
SPAM ALERT!!!
This actually interests me, how can this be proved to be real, its an interesting idea and of course i want a free ipod, but i don't want to sign up to a stupid offer that i can't get out of.
I can't believe that you went through the registration test just to post this spam, that's a first for these forums! Maybe it needs to be harder...
Zooty, it's basically a pyramid scheme where you get your "free" ipod if you buy something from their store for about $40 AND persuade 5 of your friends to do the same.
So effectively for each "free" ipod they give out, they've received $200 from people and their gullable mates.
The schemes are gradually being shut down (http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/story/0,3604,1554848,00.html) but of course there are so many of them and they span so many countries it's impossible to stop all the scamming.
But when i did my offer it was a trial that was free, all my mates did the same offer aswell, so therefore surely everyone would do the free offer and therefore the site would get no money, seems stupid.

We don't want your silly pyramid schemes, no matter how hard you try to mask them.
They don't work. I was duped when I tried one. It's tough getting 5 people to sign up for Napster.
Alright let the talk of pyraminds and Napster end.
I couldn't agree more.
