Okay, we've had all sorts of getting to know each other threads lately, so here's the newest - what's your job, and to what level are you educated (university, high school, etc), and in what?
I myself am currently near the end of my first year (of 3) at uni, studying towards a Software Engineering (computer programming) degree. I work part time (20 hours a week) as a sort of data-enterer for this company. (http://www.elephant.co.uk)
I am a lazy art slob...
I have a job but it's a brainless one at a library where I stare at the Dewey Decimal System all day and eventually snap and kill someone.
I graduated from The School of Visual Arts a year ago with a degree in cartooning... I have an official degree in comic bookery... Go me...
I'm in my first year of college here in the UK (high school else where?)
Studying for AS Physics, Maths, Computing and History (Weimar and Nazi)
I don't have a job.
Currently working as a telephone researcher with this company (http://www.critical.co.uk/), which makes me a C1 grade. So far educated so far as Sixth Form (college). I've applied for University, but haven't been yet - to hopefully study a BA Hons in film & video production.
I go to Oklahoma State University (http://www.okstate.edu") where I was studying for a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (http://ecen.okstate.edu") but have since changed my major to a technology degree (decided against all of the high level math). I'm just getting out of freshman year, but I won't earn enough credits for sophomore status until the end of the summer.
I currently have a job as a front desk clerk at my dorm (give people directions, check out vacuum cleaners, general information). It's easy and I work in the middle of the night so I don't do anything really besides homework.
I'm at the end of my first of four years of University, working my way towards a Combined Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Theatre & Film. Roughly translated, this means I'll be spending the next three years up to my ass in Shakespeare.
Until Friday at three in the morning I work security in my residence, keeping out the drunk people who don't live here. Then it will be summer, and I'll (hopefully!) be working as a cast member at the local Rennaisance festival- where I'll spend the next four months up to my ass in Shakespeare.
In two weeks i got to write my final exams. :-\
Then a month later i've got my graduation.. i hope i can start studying at university this october..
some stuff called electrical information techniques or so.. (elektrische informationstechnik)
basically its a mix of electrical engineering, computer science and physics.
and i haven't got a job.. and won't have one for the next months.
Lazy, unemployed student slob.
Lazy and Unemployed as well... and going to TAFE doing a Cert 4 Web Design and Development course.
Got through my GCSE's on native smarts, went to college to study computers, psychology and russian-political-history for some reason, fucked about/up, didn't get go to uni*.
Six or seven years later, after doing all kinds of varied and character building jobs, I'm currently working as a civil servant, which is a bit weird, really.
I share a run down old miners cottage with my bestest friend and a stupid cat. I am poor, but resonably content. Life could be a fuckload worse, and I am aware of this. Basically, all is good.
Davy
*Until the october before last, when I worked in one for a few weeks as a janitor. Which was fun.
I'm a journalism student.
And I work at a self-storage complex.
I have an Associates Degree in Fine Arts. (2 year degree)
I was working towards a Bachelors degree but dropped out of school.
I am employed as an Engraver at a family owned Awards & Trophy store in Western New York.
I have no job because i don't need any money, or want any (well, maybe i want some a LITTLE).
I'm at the end of my first year of college. I wasn't able to apply to a university straight off from high school due to crap grades. I should've just skipped my last year of HS and went straight to college. In September i'll either be moving to Dundee to go to the uni there to study graphic design, since it's one of the best apparently, or stay on at college to do more design there instead.
Trying to finish studying German and English to become a teacher, in the meantime working as a bartender/waiter/cook person in a pub.
I'm a web developer during the week.
On the weekends I strip.
I did 2 years of college (university) before realizing it was a waste of time/money for me.
Text Book Editor for a local publisher (http://www.moderneducation.com.hk).
Graduated from the University of Hong Kong (http://www.hku.edu) for a MPhil degree in mathematic four years ago.
/me gives Darth Mandarb a dollar bill... ;D
Currently studying for an Economics and an Arts degree. It's a measure of my planning skills that I haven't yet worked out how long it will take me to complete.
I had a job but I left it. Luckily it was seen fit in this country to build universities where the population is, rather than creating university towns [the prospect of a town full of students is horrifying], and that my university is 15 minutes from my home, so I avoid the student curse of menial labour for subsistence.
Im currently a junior in high school, but taking the courseload of a college freshman thru a branch of the Ohio State Univeristy. I plan to attend American Univeristy after I graduate, to study political science
right now, I am a tech grunt for an internet charter school. I also drum (both lessons and preformances) for extra cash here and there
I'm currently employed as a grocery clerk for this store-chain. (http://www.hyvee.com)
I am a sophomore in High School.
I would like to go to University of Iowa for 4 years and study film and graphic arts (3D Animation and Modeling, basically). But if I don't get a full ride or substantial scholarship, I'll take general education classes at the community college (and maybe some computer classes) for 2 years, then head to UoI for another 2 years to study film (and 3D Animation if it's offered there)
Big Dreams, Small Reality.. I know
I've just started my first year at University of Woolongong. I'm studying Computer Science, which at them moment involves, learning about algorithms (which we already learnt about in high school), c++ programming (which is pretty cool, except some of the lectureres arent so cool), maths (which I thought I had finished doing in high school) and statistics (what this has to do with computer science beats me... its pretty boring).
And I'm currently unemployed. I need a job. Like everyday mums telling me I gotta get a job, cos I'm costing my parents heaps... oh well.
In the last year of university, taking my fourth year of Japanese. Unemployed, though I make the occasional (and I mean OCCASIONAL) dollar from art commisions and comic sales. Actually, I don't think it ever translates to profit. Hope to go to Japan next year and become an english teacher, and possibly come back to Brisbane after that to get a degree in translation and interpretation.
I work as a supervisor in a small Detention facility, about 60 inmates. I am a deputized law officer, but I have minimal arrest powers (thank god). My job involves patting down folks when they come to jail, processing them into jail and transporting them to court and other stuff.
It can be a very trying job at times, and unfortunately, since I am a supervisor and often have to be the "bad-guy"to my Inmates and employees, It can be very crappy.
I have highschool education, and I have attended this:

Hehe Kinoko, you reminded me of this thread (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=11459;start=20).
Read DG's post. ;)
I'm in first year uni, studying Secondary Education for English and Music. As electives, I also do Physics and Philosophy, though they aren't legally allowed to be put on my graduating certificate...
I currently work as an English Tutor for kids who have english as a second language. I find this to be very good, because most asian families are rich, so I go over to their house, and they force me to eat lots of nice, expensive food, and then they give me lots of nice, expensive gifts that I show off to people and pretend I bought with my massive amounts of money that I store in un-named Swiss bank accounts.
The pay rate is good, too. $25 - $35 dollars an hour, depending on the kid
I'm a Rocket Scientist .
I'm an anthropologist, but I don't get paid. I go to school, also. I have no degrees but I do have a certificate that says I am the best anthropology student ever, so that's something, I suppose.
I'm finishing up my second year of music study (halfway done, thank God) at the University of California at Berkeley. I want to be done with school.
Well, I'm doing nothing for $nothing per hour. I should ask for a raise.
My last job was being an operator in post office. If anyone has same job experience to share, you'll know why game Postal was made.
I drive one of these:

and one of these:

in a factory that makes these:

and I try really hard not to do this:

C.
Man... those pics bring back bad memories from the plastic factory...
ANYHOO...
I'm currently educated up to the eleventh grade here in the states (even though I know I'm smarter than most of those fucks in my senior class who GOT a diploma). I'm almost done with my HSED course though, I've got three more subjects to finish.
I work at a local video store as a clerk/handyman. I run the store/fix what needs to be fixed (janitorial, landscaping/carpenter).
When I'm not at work, I'm a professional drunk.
I have completed numerous Tafe courses including the one I think Ultimo is doing, haven't done any study since 2000.
I run my own business but I try my hardest not to get any work in it anymore cause I hate being my own boss.
I have also started many courses that I haven't finished eg. Nursing at uni, Park Management at Tafe, PC Support at Tafe.
But recently I fucked everything off and got a job where I work for someone else.
I'm a Meter Reader for a co. called 'Field Force' on a Sydney Water contract, which means I walk for about 8 hours a day reading water meters, which includes finding the damn things buried in overgrown gardens, fighting vicious dogs, and getting very fit.
It's great, it keeps me outdoors all day away from a computer, the good thing is that it's 2 months on 1 month off, so I get a 4 week holiday every quarter, and I can also choose to work during that month off in country areas all expenses paid (they have contracts in some very nice locations eg. Byron Bay which is a coastal town on the furthest right middle edge of the east coast of Australia [but it's sort of a popular hippy druggo place too])
I'm enjoying my work for the first time in ages, and when I come home I don't have to think about anything.
on my third year of becoming a teacher in English and art.
Will take a semester off, though, to work and travel and get famous.
Apart from being full-time awesome, I'm also studying Computer Science&Engineering at Å bo Akademi. I expect to graduate in five or six years.
I wish to someday go to Å bo akademi. My cousin is going there in 4 years. I have High School first... Helsingfors is closer. But I still want to Å bo Akademi.
I work as a fulltime proffessional idiot
I look after my daughter for 5 hours in the morning then work for 8 hours designing microchips in the afternoon. Plus a half-hour commute (x2) then that makes a 14 hour day. And then you wonder why AotS is late...
Still, it's only temporary, until my daughter reaches 18 years and leaves home.
I'm an English major and Philosophy minor, currently struggling through my junior year. Once I'm finished, I'd like to get a masters in Linguistics, but I'm not 100% sure about that yet. Besides that, I'm unemployed, and thanks to my laziness, I'll prolly stay like that for a few more years.
When I'm not saving the world as a part of my superhero role, I sit in an office writing business software.
It's soul-destroying.
well i'm a minor in age, and teh go to highschool(2nd year here) more of a math direction, tho the first year i was a Commercialist but i transferedt like the first month to this other school. Everything clear?
Didnt think so.
8)
I'm a senior in high school, and I don't have a job. So I really don't do anything..
Next year I'm going to the University of Maine, where I'll major in being totally badass.. Or English.
I am currently studying Quantinum Physics and String Theory at Harvard University. I am an active pursuer of the arts, and my collection ranges from Picasso to Monet.
I play the classical harp in the Boston Symphony and I am currently reading The Advanced Theory of Quantum Disturbances.

It's true. Click here (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=2310;start=msg149435#msg149435) to see a picture of releasethefrogs working on one of his breakthrough physics experiments. :D
You guys really suck. Make it look like I'm the only loser going nowhere in my life.
Although I got halfway through a bachelors degree in information technology, and have numerous IT accreditations... I work for a supermarket pushing fucking trolleys all day.
I also have, on the side, a business of my own where I do the occasional small project (currently a music cd, which will ship hopefully a few thousand units).
I am such a worthless underachiever.
I need to go to university.
Eh... I'm still in good ol' high school, Grade 11. What I WANT to do, though, is to become a video game programmer, systems analyst, or software engineer.
I've taken all of my school's computer courses and I have an average mark in the 90's, so I hope I can accomplish being one of the jobs above.
Until then...
I'm just some jobless teenager who has an obsession with skateboarding and archery.
Well, I'm in Transition Year of High School, at St Leos. In September, I'm moving to do 5th and 6th (Final years) in the swankily-named Ferrybank Abbey College.
I'm a waitress at Little Chef, Waterford, and work 14 hours of my hard-earned weekend. I smlie a lot, and pretend to love each and every customer to enhance their customer experience.
For college, I'll do a four-year degree in Programming at Trinity College, during which I'll attend night courses in 3D computer animation at Ballyfermot. Then I'm doing a 2-year Classical Animation diploma at Ballyfermot College. For a total of six years, if everything goes to plan, I'll be able to choose between programming or animation as a career, or swivel between both or, even better, become one of those rare and magical Programmers with an Artistic Background.
Save as to see me overacting (http://firehead.org/~jessh/film/mine/Nosfera2-small.mov)
Click to see me dancing to Journey (http://www.tycoonjack.com/dance.html)
Save as to hear me voice acting as a lousy Terence Stamp (http://sylpher.com/evenwolf/random/Fishing%20With%20Terence.mp3)
The funny story is that on Saturday I mentioned the Stamp project to the editor (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0873531/)of a new Terence Stamp movie, and he asked to have it to give to Doug Liman, who would then give it to Terence. I'm actually embarrassed but maybe he will be flattered?
I attend the University of Texas but will most likely not graduate. I write scripts and short stories. Make special effects for feature films and TV. Sometimes perform stand up. This weekend I will be auditioning for a part in Mike Judge's new movie (King of the Hill, Beavis Butthead, Office Space). Wish me luck.
I am at one subject to have a degree in "Management of business and Touristic activities" :P
And I've worked as a DJ in a disco... It was funny, all people were taking cocaine except me, who managed to keep awake driking shots of liquor of coffee...
My schedule was Sleep-dinner-work-shower-bike-shower-Sleep.
I hated the "smell of the night" in my body... so I took showers before training with the bicycle... swet=good... mixing swet, smoke, alcohol=evil.
And I've been something like an amateur cyclist... But I was quite mediocre. ;D
well... let's sum this up:
my education is varied and useless.
i work in a phone company. i sit all day with a list of people who have moved without giving us their address. my job is to call them up and get their address. i'm bound for greatness...
Well... Studied at Faculty of Law... Got a degree... I'm a lawyer. Always wanted to be something else though. *cries for help from corporate hell*
