Title: what is the strangest dream you have ever had?
Post by: eddie hitler on Tue 05/12/2006 20:25:00
Ive had a ton of bizarre dreams.I recently had a dream about my little brother attacking me with a blow pipe, he didn't actually shoot darts at me, he just poked me violently with the pipe.
I have woke up laughing, swearing, and muttering strange absurditys such as "it looks like he is fingering a distressed pigeon"

what is the strangest dream you have ever had?

My strangest dream was one that was strange in its normality. When I was 6 I had a dream I was in candy store, one of those old fashioned mom and pop like candy store. Like a corner store from the 19th century. It was painted green, but not wizard of oz green, much more tasteful, with white and natural wood accents. as well the candy was green too. There was a large jar of  solid green gumballs, and I wanted one. SO someone, I think my dad, or some other male I knew in the dream bought it for me. So I was, happily masticating, when I started to wake up. Now have you ever had gum in your mouth when you go to sleep? It gets all over the place and often sticks your face to the pillow, and you realize why your mom told you not to. Well, as I started to wake up, my dream gum had got all over my pillow, I could feel it on my cheek and even in my hair, I tugged at it even smelled it, but when I woke up completely, it was gone.

I hate those deja-vu dreams.

One time I had a dream that I was with my mom and we were driving down the road in the winter. We had just come back from renting movies. So anyway we were driving and suddenly we started skidding and sliding and finally we smashed into a ditch and the car stood up on two wheels, and we were there for two seconds, then it smashed back down on all fours. This happened in a dream, and then happened in reality a week later. It was very scary for me at the time.

I've had a lot of strange dreams.

I dreamt once that by a weird twist of fate I was spontaneously transported to another dimension with a most unusual companion, the devil himself. So then, the devil and I had to set aside our differences in order to survive in this new hostile world. We had to get from the rear of a zooming transport train to the engine. Once there, I leapt off the front of it, suddenly realizing that I had two cuts of meat in my hands. I threw one at the windshield of the train, which caused me to be transported into another alternate universe, where I found myself falling into a dark green ocean under a blood red sky. I landed in the water, where I soon found a giant horrible sharklike beast swiftly coming towards me, whose face was basically an organic version of the grill on the front of an old pickup truck. I threw the other cut of meat at it, which transported me into yet another alternate world, where I soon found six giant cephalopods coming towards me. Great. Luckily, I was near a shore, so I went up on land. Unluckily, the cephalopods were able to do as much. So then, I found myself being pursued by one of these monsters through a passageway with rhythmic blasts of fire blocking my way every few steps. Looking backwards, the monster was hindered in no way by these fiery blasts, so I was in trouble. Then, when it was about to get me, the devil showed up and murdered the stupid beast. Phew. Then I woke up. I want to design an AGS game based on this dream. Actually, a lot of my game ideas come directly from dreams.

I also once dreamt that I had superpowers including but not limited to: Flying, stopping bullets in midair by thinking, shooting blasts from my hands a la Dragonball Z, extraordinary reflexes, etc., etc., etc. I was part of a guild or gang or organization of some kind, and I was infiltrating the base of a rival guild/gang/organization, sneaking around and incapacitating people. Soon, I came to the central temple adytum of this rival group's headmistress, who turned out to be my girlfriend. So I battled with my girlfriend, who had similar superpowers, and then I remembered that we were friends, at which point we stopped fighting, and I woke up.

I also once dreamt that I was a superpowerful giant monster flying around, destroying a city, and battling the military. This was fun.

I also once dreamt that I was a superpowerful giant alien being, and I fell helplessly in love with a spaceship. Seriously.

Let me select the weirdest one that I published in my book :)

QuoteThere was a party at my grandparent's place, which, as it seems, I was throwing. Now, my grandparent’s place is an old folk’s home, and their apartment is on the first floor. It's fairly small, and the front door comes to a sort of walkway, which on one side has the front sides of the apartments, and on the other nothing but a waist-high metal railing to keep you from falling a good 20 feet down. There were a good 40-50 people there, easily enough to fill the apartment to the brim and then some, so people were standing on the walkway as well. I was inside, having a drink and talking to people. In general, the party was going quite alright. I saw a friend of mine, John, standing outside, through the window. He was flirting quite obviously with a girl, while his girlfriend, Michelle, was trying to pull her off of him. It didn’t seem to faze him, as he didn’t seem to care about what happened. I suddenly had an incredible craving for a cigarette, but I knew I wasn't allowed to smoke inside, so I moved to the walkway and lit myself one. As I took in the soft, half-cool, half-warm night air, I noticed glasses standing everywhere. As I was responsible for what was going on that night, I decided to start cleaning up glasses. Fucking bastards leaving them just everywhere, just to be broken by people not noticing or caring. I’m going to have to replace a lot of glasses.

And as I started picking them up, I noticed that indeed, I was going to be throwing away a lot of these glasses, as most had cracks and parts missing from them. I picked up two, moved further onto the walkway and picked up another 3. I figured out too late that one of them was almost completely broken and a sharp shard was sticking out. I noticed it when the shard cut me in the chest, deeply, and stayed there. I wasn't able to get the shard out, and I was getting panicky. A friend of mine, who was also picking up glasses, but from the other direction, towards the door, saw me and greeted me. She saw something was wrong, and asked me what it was. I mentioned the shard puncturing my chest, and she helped get it out. I bled from the wound, quite heavily, but it seemed I wasn’t majorly damaged or anything. She moved her hand over the wound and said it would be okay, that I didn't have to worry about it. I accepted her consoling words, and brushed off the pain and started picking up more glasses.

When I reached the end of the walkway I saw the stairs leading down to ground level. A friend of mine was walking up the stairs and I noticed him. I asked him what had happened between John, the girl, and Michelle, who had been trying to get her off of him. He mentioned John had escorted the girl home, and more than a single mistake had happened. He didn't want to explain what exactly, but after me saying some things I don't even half remember, he agreed to tell me. At that moment, John came back, up the stairs, and past, with Michelle right after him. I put the glasses down, and sat down on the metal railing, with my back towards the 20-feet drop. I looked up to the sky, then at the people around me, and lit up another cigarette. My girlfriend came walking up to me and jokingly gave me a little push. I almost fell off of the railing, as it's pretty hard to keep your balance when you can't grab onto anything and the metal bars are all vertical so you can't hook your feet into them.

As soon as I had re-found my balance, I got off of the railing, stood panting, and sighed a deep sigh of relieved panic. I then grabbed her by the sweater, which, for some obscure reason, was a hoody, and I yelled at her to NEVER, EVER do something that fucked up again, or I'd fucking hurt her in return. She looked down to the drop, and somehow not coming across completely sincere, said she was sorry. She wouldn't do it ever again. Then, in a flash of a second, a blink of an eye, Michelle (my girl's best friend), who was standing some feet away, along with John, pushed my girl hard toward the railing and said "Yeah, don't do THIS again". She doesn't fall down to the ground immediately. She topples over the railing, but as I'm still grabbing her sweater, I manage to keep her hanging on. For some reason, everybody around me just stood around not doing anything. There are guys down on ground level, and I wanted to scream at them to, please god, catch her if she happens to fall, yet no sound emerged from my throat. All around me, it was eerily silent, and everybody just looked down at her and back up at me. A good 5-6 people just standing there, being no help at all. And that's when my grip slipped.

She fell down to ground level. The guys who were standing there moved out of the way as to not get hurt themselves. Silently, and quickly, I cursed them more than I would want to curse anyone. I saw the fear in her eyes as she fell toward the ground. Her head bobbed as it hit the ground first, leaving a dark wet mark on the ground. Silent. No Movement.

I started to whimper, and slowly moved away from the railing. One part of me wanted to run to her and grab her and talk to her, and the other wanted to yell at Michelle, shake her about, hell, even throw her off of the walkway herself. But for some reason I can't get myself to do either. As I slowly started limping toward the stairs, I started crying uncontrollably. And now people started moving. Some guy runs up the stairs from downstairs, and two guys run down from upstairs. The guys from below are still standing there, just looking, still not doing anything. I tell someone to call an ambulance, and they phone in to the emergency hotline 112. In the end, it turned out it was all too late. She died on impact, her neck broken, and if that hadn’t killed her, the brain trauma would have done her in. I never had the opportunity to tell her one last time how much I loved her.

The next I seem to remember was the tattoo parlor. I was getting a tattoo fitted in remembrance of my girl. I remember just going up to my mom and saying 'Give me 60 euros out of my account' and then going to the tattoo parlor to get the tattoo fitted. The design was very simple, even sober. It was to be an eternal mourning sign, a symbolic display of how everything ends, that nothing ever stays the same. It seemed the best choice. It was a black band, about an inch wide, horizontally placed around my right upper arm.

Next memory is the funeral. It would have been a beautiful day, had it not been the day I was burying the girl I loved. Her family was there, my family was there, and our mutual friends, save for one. Well, one, and the guy she was with. I was wearing black boots along with black pants and an opaque black sleeveless shirt. The tattoo was clearly shown and some of the family members there had made kind remarks about it, it being a symbolic means to show how everything is finite. Under my dyed black dreadlocks, I was wearing black shades, and my beard had been twisted into two separate black braids, two small beads holding them in place. I looked my best. I knew she would've liked the way I looked. After today, I'd never look this way again. It'd been done as a symbolical thing - to symbolize that she was everything to me, and that without her, it meant so little anymore, and that it would take a very long time for things to start mattering again.

Suddenly, I see Michelle walking towards us, with John right behind her. She's wearing a black veil and sunglasses. I walked up to them, meeting up at a good 30 feet away from where the ceremony was actually being held. I slapped her right across the face, throwing her sunglasses off, and her veil into disorder.
"What the HELL are you doing here?" I asked, with my anger quite prominent in my voice.
"She was my friend too, you know..." she said, rubbing her cheek.
"Yeah, but can you guess why we're all here? She's here because you killed her. We're also here because you killed her, and the police are here because they want to keep you in check because you KILLED HER"
I ended that last bit in a violent outburst. I looked over her shoulder and nodded to the police officer who was looking as if he was inquiring whether everything was alright. John chose this moment to stand up for his girlfriend and pushed me out of the way. I looked at him and scoffed.
"Stay out of this. To return the favour your girl here has done me, I'd have to throw you off of a balcony, so I advise you both to fuck off from here."
They looked at one another, towards the casket still hanging above the grave, and turned around. Their steps were slow and calculated. Sure she was feeling crappy about it, and of course John did too, but did they truly expect they could just show up and be treated like the others that were here? At least none of us had any influence on us being here, while they both had.

I turned around towards the ceremony, which continued. I wept in the arms of my mother, and swore that I would remember her forever. I pinched my newly tattooed upper arm softly and smiled a wry smile, knowing that she was a part of me forever.

And then I woke up in tears.

Funny detail: I'm getting that tattoo fitted. I had this dream 2,5 years ago and that tattoo has been stuck in my mind since then. After thinking it over, I've decided on just the mourning band, 1,5 inches in width, around my right biceps. 2,5 years of wanting it and never doubting it seems like good enough reason to get it ;)

For me the strangest dreams are when I dream of something and in the morning I have a feeling I've seen the same thing before, a long time ago, when exactly I don't know. But then I realize I saw those two dreams the same night. Makes me feel kinda weird.

I love reading about people's dreams!

Not my weirdest dream by a long mile, but I'll tell you this one because I think it's amusing:

I was spiderman. I was in some bad guys lair trying to destroy some hi-tech computer machines, but I couldn't destroy them. Then superman came along and started destroying them with ease and I was jealous that he has better powers than me. I then went home to my girlfriend, and went to bed sulking. I kept rolling out of bed and would use my spiderweb power, to shoot at the bed, to pull myself back in.

Not really a dream, but this extremely freaky and weird thing happened to me today/tonight. I don't recall doing it myself, and I haven't been drinking or using any types of narcotics :P

This is what I woke up with today (hope noone are offended by the pic):

Two very clean cuts, shaped as a "V" on my chest. There were no blood on my sheets, even though these are cuts that I imagine would bleed relatively much. I have two cats that could have done this, but seeing that my door was closed all night, and... well, cats don't just do stuff like that, I doubt they did anything. And as I said, I can not recall doing this myself :P
And I have no sharp objects in my room. No knifes, nothing...

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I woke up in a ditch this morning, with a potato knife clenched in my hands and a note saying "vict0r must die".

Reading what you said, I'm starting to see a link between our two predicaments.

How odd!

I had a dream about a piss up with Blair and Bush a couple of weeks ago. That's currently my most strange. The majority of my dreams are fairly reasonable in what they contain, for example, I don't find myself walking through a land of circles and squares and giant lobsters come and dance around a mountain top... That'd just be odd. I'd be worried about what it was I was subconciously thinking throughout the past few days!

What I do wonder though, is whether anyone dreams from any kind of perspective other than "themselves". In my dreams, I am always myself and always inside my head. I don't start seeing myself from out of my body, and I'm never an animal or something. Does anyone?

I have a ton of odd dreams, let me see if I can think of a few specifics.

Hmmm.. As a kid I had a dream that one of my hand held grocery-store video game thingys came to real life. It was one with some little tiny dude you had to move and avoid falling and getting electrocuted. In my dream it was hyper-real and I saw the dude fall and get electrocuted and fried. It was odd and frightening.

I also had a scary dream about a vampire that tore out my heart and ate it in front of me. I was also a child when this happened, and I couldn't sleep the rest of the night.

I always enjoy dreams where I fly around. I had one dream that I was flying around this cloud city type thing, but then I lost my flying powers, and bad things started happening. It was very cinematic (alot of my dreams are).

Then I've had very intricate plot-filled dreams, but nothing I feel like explaining. But let's just say I've made entire movies in my head in one dream. It's fun!

Depends on what you count as seeing from outside... I 'mindhop' a bit in a lot of my dreams - basically playing a bunch of different people in the same dream, but always knowing that it's me pretending to be someone else. So I sometimes see someone that I 'was' a couple of seconds ago, but I never dream in the third-person.

I've also dreamt I was an animal of some sort (can't remeber what). But again, I was aware that I was still me, just pretending, and eventually got bored of it. I don't know if that shows a strong self awareness, or just that I'm wrong in the head.

Despite this, I don't think I have many 'strange' dreams, the ones I remember mostly aren't really coherent enough to be strange.

This is essential reading! People send their dreams to this guy, and he makes a comic out of them. Most of it is good, and some of it is absolutely fantastic.

I have had dreams, were I have no part whatsoever its like a movie, and in one in praticular,  had famous actors in it. it goes for angles, and was in fact, from what I remember, as good a movie as any I haver seen.
Heres another question. In a lucid dream, or any dream where you are in your own head, who are you talking to? If you have a conversation, who in all hell is talking to you? Are you talking to yourself? And if so, how come you don't know what the answer will be?

That's odd. Of the people I've spoken to (admittedly, a small number, and mostly on a similar mental wavelength to me) MOST ‘mindhop' at some point. Maybe not as often as me, and I seem to be the only one aware of it ‘in-dream' (as opposed to thinking about the dream when awake and realising 'Hey! Different perspective!'), but still. Conversely, most DON'T see themselves from the outside. When they do (I see myself in mirrors, which is apparently unusual), it's definitely THEM, except for a few minor details (hair, glasses, ‘I'd never wear that', etc). Out of interest â€" Can you be sure you actually looked like Fat Joe (or otherwise different from your ‘real' self), and didn't just think you did, in the dream?

Quote
In a lucid dream, or any dream where you are in your own head,

This might be slightly off-topic, or might be me misunderstanding 'Lucid Dreams', but: I've always thought 'Lucid' dreaming was when you took control of the dream - otherwise (by the rest of lo_res_man's question) what's the difference from any dream? Whoever you talk to in a dream, who're you talking to if not yourself? Sorry, I just don't get the difference between 'lucid' and otherwise 'in your own head' (again, based on l_r_m's statement). Unless the question is really: "Does lucid dreaming access a consciousness outside your own", which I can't answer. I don't lucid dream. 80% of the time I'm aware I'm dreaming, but I can't dream lucidly.

Feeling pain in a dream sucks.
I seem to only be able to dream what I've actually experienced. So, I can stub my dreamtoe and it hurts like hell. But since I've never been shot, stabbed, fallen from a great height, been gnawed by a zombie, ... my dreamself is pretty much invincible. Which is nice.

I fly in a lot of my dreams. But I seem to have a ceiling on how high I can go.

Feeling pain in a dream sucks. I once dreamt a zombie was chewing off my fingers, and I could feel it as it was happening. Actually, that whole dream seemed to be based on Carmageddon, by way of Death Race 2000. Funky cars and all.

Weird.

All of my dreams are very strange, but there are some dreams that wake me up and I feel so weird, that i have to turn on a light and just sit on the foot of my bed until that strange feeling goes away and then i go back to sleep.

I think the strangest dreams i ever have is when i re-visit a location that i may have dreamt about before. In my dream, i actually get deja vu. It is really hard to describe. Even while sleeping, i get this feeling that, hey, i've been here before. There might be some minor changes and may even have a different plot, but none the less, is a weird feeling to have while enjoying a little shut eye.

Oh, I also have a tendency to dream about ferris wheels collapsing and people falling to their deaths. I have had this type of dream many times, and might also include other amusement park rides. Some rides might spin out of control and go flying off their supports. Thank goodness i am only witnessing this in my dreams and not actually on the rides.

Flying in dreams is cool too, but i am afraid of heights, so i stay low to the ground.

Happens to me all the time. I've been stabbed, sliced, eaten (see above), crashed into, shot, decompressed in space...lots of stuff.

All in explicit Feel-O-Vision (tm).

Of course, having never experienced these sensations in real life, I'm sure my subconcious is only extrapolating how each would feel from my conciousness's(!) experience of everyday pain (paper cuts, pulled muscles, etc, etc).

I recommend feeling pain in dreams.

As I edited above, I don't feel pain unless it's a minor thing I've actually experienced (I've had dream pins and needles a few times). I DO experiece every other sense though (at times anyway), something I'm told isn't overly common.

Physical sensations are a rarer occurance, within the Dreamscape(!), than mental ones (fear, sadness, happiness, etc.).

I would believe this is because they require the mind to compensate for lack of actual tactile response from the body.

As for triggering the pleasure center of the brain, most people would consider sexual arousal
to be heavily influenced by the mind, rather than the genitals, anyway.

For me, flying dreams (or other fantastical activities...I once did a very long handstand) happen only when I am aware I am dreaming, which does not happen as often as I'd like. When I realise I'm dreaming, my first thought is "OMG I'm going to try to fly!!" and then I dance with glee. It is not that easy as just doing it however, because I try to make myself do it with the power of will, but it doesn't always work perfectly. It also doesn't help that I typically start to wake moments after realising I'm dreaming, and can't just keep myself from waking.

Though as I mentioned before, I pulled off this sweet handstand once. It was really badass, and I even went on to shift so I was at a 45 degree angle. I guess it must be the notion of flying that excites you to the point where your dream stop. I suppose this is a lesson for us all to dream big, but start small :D.

My wet dreams are lame. Once it happens, I realize it and immediately awaken. It doesn't feel the same as when awake. There's no pleasurable sensation. It's basically just an "oh, there it goes again" kind of thing.

Flying is fun, but usually I can only fly if I have some measure of awareness that I am in fact just dreaming. There was this one time, though, when I realized I was actually awake and was really flying. That was pretty cool.

Whenever I have dreams it's usually about killing. Last night, I had a dream that my brother started shooting at me with a smg so I ran into the woods. I tried to shoot him with a revolver but I missed six times and all of my revolver bullets turned into AK rounds. Thinking quick I flanked him, grabbed his gun, and shot him in the chest. After going through all that uncalled for shit I felt bad for killing him  >:(.

It was quite a good dream too :)Also, when it was a few days till my seventh birthday, I kept on dreaming that it was my birthday and that I got loads of really cool shit. When I woke from these dreams I was always overwhelmed with disppointment. My actual seventh birthday was a bit of a let down because I had the flu.I am never aware that I am actually dreaming. My bro says he always knows he is dreaming and says he can control the events. Can any of you do this?

I've done that a few times, I figured out I was dreaming. ( in the dream, I was dead, and I was going through this office building, with a whole bunch of other people, and I saw a sign, "this way heaven" and another "this way hell" the idea of the choice being so simple, made me realise it was a dream) anyway, being horny little basterd, I went up to the nearest woman I saw, and erm... started doing the dirty deed. ;) then I heard my mom, yell in a high and mighty, pissed off old school marm, voice from the clouds, "shame, SHAME!" and it tossed me out of the lucid state. The dream went on, but I don't remember it much, I woke up some time after. I was smirking.

Here's one I don't mind sharing  ;) :
It was shortly after I had my first "Day of Doom". The original shareware episode, heck, YOU know. Had it played all day, and everyone knows that such a thing can leave you seeing the stuff... like playing Tetris and seeing bricks when you close your eyes.

Okay, here comes: I was running around the spaceport, in full armour, clenching my sidearm, and there were demons everywhere. It was all blurry- in the dream it was all looking real, not low-res, but with cheesy special effects... and suddenly a group of tourists came in through a secret door I was just about to open. Tourists. Elderly men and women, some of them carrying picnic baskets, all of them holding cameras. And suddenly some old women screeched: "Oooo, look, that young man over there killing that imp, Frank (I still remember that name!!!), quick, take a photo!"
All of a sudden the whole thing turned into something really strange; I had to get those tourists out of the level, there were even more freaked monsters around, and even today I can remember how I woke up grinning.

I didn't touch that game for another day, though.

My bro says he always knows he is dreaming and says he can control the events. Can any of you do this?

Yes, when I realize that i am dreaming I can alter stuff and my dreams simply by thinking. Its pretty fun.
I remember as a kid that whenever I was dreaming I would usually realize it and try to escape the dream for some reason. I didn't  like the dreams, so in my dreams I would try to find an exit. I thought I was awake and that my family was eating breakfast so I woked up and ate with them but later I woke up for real and realized that the family wasnt awake.  ;D

Lucid Dreams are the best kind. I had one last night, it was seriously awesome. I can't remember much about it, but it involved kidnapping, fence jumping and a large amount of guns in my pocket.

Oh man, Ghost, your dream had me LOL.

However, not long ago, I dreamed Meg from Family Guy was my girlfriend.
And I think the cast of Drawn Together also appeared in some form.
Ah, animated sitcoms, destroyers of my mind.

I had more strange dreams, but nothing I would remember right now.
Maybe I'll post another one as soon I remember one.

I've had some dreams of cartoon characters. ANd sometimes I can't tell the cartoons from noncartoons in my dreams, but I realize it when I wake up. Or what about those dreams of espionage? The creepy feelings I have, such as one where I was trying to kill the cops with my niper rifle and pistol in a series of abandoned warehouses at night.

I can dream every night, How I do this is just by mere influence, in my mind I think in captitol letters :" I AM GOING TO DREAM TONIGHT" I think it about 5 times, and when I sleep I can dream, although I've never been able to create my own, nor control the occurance... :(

Pmdee: You can train yourself to have Lucid dreams. Everyone dreams at least 3-4 times a night, it's just often that people don't remember their dreams. The fact that you can recall at least one dream a night is pretty good.
Lucid dreaming is the act of becoming aware that you're dreaming once you're dreaming. There are several ways to do this, including reality checks etc. You can read more about it on wikipedia and other sites from Google.

I've been training myself for lucidity and had my first lucid dream about 3 nights ago after about a month of training. It's rewarding and is actually one the best experiences ever! I highly recommend it to anyone.

zor,cool!
I might read up on that. keep the dreams coming. I had a dream last night that I was being chased around a burning oil rig at night by a bunch of ed byrne look alikes with revolvers. When they caught up with me, one of them dropped his gun and took out a golf club."say goodbye bitch" he said as he swung back the club.I woke up saying"no,please, I have a wife!".Wonder what it means.

Heh, in dreams I often think "Am I dreaming?" and then quickly dismiss the thought.

What techniques do you recommend, Zor?

Vel, you almost have it. Just say "Yes I am" to yourself, and you'll probably begin lucid dreaming. I've only been pretty fully lucid once, and it only lasted for about 1 dream minute. The thing that made me lucid dreaming was reaching that stage of questioning myself as to whether I was or wasn't dreaming. If that happened more often to me, I'd lucid dream more often I'm sure - but my dreams are constantly wild and I never get the chance to think to myself "am I dreaming?". The time I did actually manage it, I remember realising I was dreaming, then convincing myself I was in bed next to my girlfriend, so I was in a comfortable situation. I decided to empty everything around me, and build up a room and see what I could do in the lucid state. I think that was taking it a bit too far for me tho, because as I built the room up and tried to change things regarding my perspective, it just went a bit haywire and ended up waking me up :P

Oh well, maybe it'll happen again in 22 years time!

Vel: What I did first was to build up my dream recall. Every night before you go to bed tell yourself that you are
going to remember your dreams. Then in the morning try and remember as much as possible and write it down in a book. It took me about a week to get to at least 2-3 dreams a night. (this part is very important, because you could end up having a lucid dream and not remembering!)

While you do that get into the habit of performing regular reality checks, even while you're conscious. Wear a watch and constantly look at time, except always do it twice. If the time changes from the first time you looked you'll know you're dreaming. Do the same thing when you find yourself reading a book or something. Eventually you'll find yourself performing the checks in your dreams, and when you do them they'll fail and you'll achieve lucidity!

Sounds like a lot of work, I know, but it's all worth it!

I had this really annoying dream last night: I remember thinking, "Damn, this situation is pretty whacked, I'm probably dreaming. Oh yes I'm definitely dreaming! --- Hey, wait ... Everything looks pretty realistic, I actually don't think I'm dreaming!"
I was so close!!

I have dreams that I remember quite often, almost daily. Also, I hear music in dreams and if I do remember the melody afterwards I record it to a song.
Zor, having a dream diary seems quite cool, but I wouldn't want just anyone to read it, you know. ¬_¬
We shall see, what the night brings this time.

I had a dream last night htat I mooned everyone in a huge clothes store then I peed on the floor. Does anyone know what this means? Also I have a lot of dreams of myself in huge clothes stores or malls. I guess its because I always got lost as a little kid.

The trouble with lucid dreams, is they are often easier to remember. Sometimes as easy as normal life. Which means that dream memories can get confused with real life ones.
