alright, it doesn't have to be original, but it has to be something you'd like to base your life upon. I'll start:
Life is lemonade:
a few sour lemons
some weet as sugar moments,
and alot of average day to day water.
Long time ago I made something like this:
Wake up with a smile
Live the day with calm
Greet the night with relief

You sound rather depressed in that one, like you just want life to go away...
Yes, it sunds depressed... But I'm not so much pesimistic ;)
Well, my very real philosophy is not in a "poem". It's "You can't achieve an ideal state, but you should work on it".
Mmm... there is a thread for newbies to introduce theirselves... Why must they do it making "What is ..." threads? :P
Mabe I the exception, but... I find this a little... boring...
(On the other hand I am the King of being the first of posting when a famous die, so... I should shut up) ;D
I already introduced myself on the intro sticky, and this is a question i ask alot because i'm fairly interested in philosophies.
and just becasue theres no out right flamming allowed in this forum doesn't mean posts like yours are exactly the "warm welcome to the community" people would expect.
Saying something like that can upset some of the newB's that try and find a local forum. and before you even know somebody you're rejecting them. I could have vital skills needed by the community or be a help in the future or anything.
I understand that i won't make friends with some people on a forum, but i wish the people like you would at least be polite, and even if you can't why take the time to write something like that?
So as far as intro's go, I have said hello on the "hello" post, as far as interests go, i'm going to voice them as i see fit and as far as first imprssions go, almost everyone is polite except you.
I always (try to) live by,
"You can't make a better future by living in the past."
Which is probably a little hypocritical since this forum is dedicated to games from 15-20 years ago!
What I basically mean is that you can't dwell on the past.Ã, You shouldn't forget it, but you shouldn't let it dominate either.Ã, Learn from it, and move on.
It ties in nicely with another one of my philosophies, "Fuck it!"
"Fuck it!" is one of my favourites too. It comes very much in handy when something's gone wrong, and can't be fixed. No reason dwelling on it, right?
I have several others too.
"You choose what you get annoyed by." This is very true, and if you realize this, almost nothing can ever piss you off again. Unless you want it.
The hardest one to live by, at least in my opinion is "You only live once." I often catch myself in missing opportunities and believing that I have plenty of time, or even a finite amount of cool things to do while I'm alive. There are an infinite amount of cool things to do and your time on the earth is finite. Have as much fun as you can!
Think and act positive, and positive things will happen in your life.
Have goals, plans, dreams, but take things one day at a time, one step at a time.
Every day is a gift, Use it wisely.
Respect and appeciate life, others, nature and the gifts/skills/talents/blessings that you have.
If you did even a little something each day to bring a bit of happiness and kindness into the life of someone else (and hopefully they in turn too will try to do likewise) then you're helping to make the world become a better place to live in.
What you project, will eventually come back at you, and usually in threefold strength.
Actually, this was not pointed to you, but in this latest month there have been like ten similar cases. You've just been the drop which made the water of the glass flood.
Sometimes the forum adjustes like this, a person is harsh, a warm flame war starts, and we finish getting new conclussions... Ã, ;D
So, in conclussion, as this was not aimed to you I think it should be silly to reply to sentences that were made when you believed I was talking to you.
Sorry for the missunderstood, but if a pair of newbies read this and stop making "What is *%#*?!@" I'll be pleased. There are many ways to introduce topics. You could have explained that filosophy is your hobby, which have been the forums you've visited before, well... Some EFFORT, not just "I like sweet lemons! And you?" I think you'd agree with me that IF ANY NEWBIE would start posting with some silly "What is your favourite _____?" Ã, This should become a mess... And the first page of gen gen must be, IMO, for interesting threads...
Anyway, welcome to the forums...
"It'll all be worth it if you get to create and produce your own animated TV show at some point in your life" seems to come in handy for me...
"I shit therefore I am."
Not so stupid when you think about it a while :o
My first philosophy is based solely on love. People do stuff because they love what they do. They start families because they love each other. They start wars because they lack love, and hate, instead. Or, they love money, and start oil wars (just an example I plucked off the top of my mind... ::) ).
My SECOND philosophy is based solely on what people think of you. Your relationships, your career, your social life will depend heavilly on what other people think - your boss, your mate, your friends.
I get by with both of these. They balance each one quite nicely.
Old one. Yin-Yang.
What goes around, comes around.

Oh how i love you, the kind of person that can't discern a newb from a n00b and who thinks the new guy should be shunned. It's kind of a philosophy in itself, not one i agree with maybe, but no matter how hard i try to treat somebody as an equal, someone who insults you at first meeting and then on second attempt says "nothing personal" and then makes personall provokation (eg: "I like sweet lemons") give me an opinion that you are shallow and generally an imbeciele, if you weren't speaking to me on a forum, i'd ask if you knew how to read.
Yes, those "what is your favourate..." threads can be annoying, but this can be avoided in many ways.
1. DON'T click on the topic (duh.)
2. get a life outside the forums. (so when a new guy wants to introduce himself you feel the need to attack him.)
3. Read the title's of threads. (hmmm... a "what is your fav. thread... i don't like those so i won't bother to read them.)
number 3 is my favourate, it can lead to questions like.
this forum is pro diversity? then why do people attack newbs, who wish to get to know new piers?
although some people may want to get to know their piers by asking "what is you favorate shawn connery film" i feel that finding out somebodies philosophy can give you a deep insight into their psychie, so if more than 1 thread comes along, who cares?
rather than writing an answer like this, and making us not friends, you could have simply ignored the thread, granted we still wouldn't be friends, but there won't someone i think little of every time i read one of their posts.
Seriously, if you wanted to make enemies you don't need the internet, you can just go outside and shout obscene things to strangers, unless you feel this is the only way you will win a right (or "falme war") because there will be no physical work on any level? (more than presssing ctrl + V to paste "azzole" repeatedly and making you look *so* witty.)
I honestly have little doubt that if we did get in a flame war, either i'd lose and leave this thread, or you'd lose and suddenly reply with "this is so childish, i'm ending this right now" but if you want to prove me right go ahead,
Er, let's not escalate, yes? He made a mistake, and apologized.
Like YOke, my girlfriend has a theroy on life which I fancy very much.
"Life is like a dick. Fuck it."
I just realized most people aren't going to know what objectivism is.
Read some Ayn Rand books.
I live by: "Just don't!" and "If you don't have, don't take"
the, Just don't, one means that don't take things so seriously. My sis, as an example, gets stressed for such unimportant and tiny things. She got stressed because the dog wasn't going away when she told it too. I said to her, just don't. You might think it's not that easy, but actually it's really not that hard.
Takkar, although you're not a forum expert after having made 11 posts, we do appreciate your views on how you've been treated so far. But you've got to admit, this second rash of "What is...?" posts (yes, we had a first) does tend to push other, more important posts downward. And we all known nobody ever reads Page 2 and beyond. ;)
So my philosophies:
Smilies mean I'm only half-joking.
What goes around...is usually a girl you should avoid.
and
Life is like a trash dumpster. There are weird things in it, gross things, treasures nobody else knows about...and of course the occasional homeless person making an appearance every so often.
And yes, you can quote me on those philosophies! ;D

I understand completely, but when I did this first post I understood that also, this is a good wy to get to know your peers, nobody actually reads past the title post on the "introduce yourself" threads, and when people try to attack the new guy I can either take the attack and be labled "soft" (or somesuch,) or I can nfight back and end up being labled as an equal (until they get to know me)
and if there were 5/6 of the "if your were a resident evil character...." threads, and if there was i understand that most people wouldn't bother to join the threads if they think thats what these people like to talk about, but as it happened there weren't any. and i'm sure that if every post on npage 1 is listed as "last post TODAY" then a few of the regulars will search for other posts from today on page 2 as well, even if not all do.
I'm not here to cause a fight, but when one of my first posts are attacked by somebody i will defend myself, i'll admitt to not knowing that there have been past problems and I'll admit that i myself have seen a few of these type of posts that are just plain stupid.
but listening to peoples philosophies can tell you alot about them, theres a chance to see who will be convicted about their posts and who will look for an excuse to use the word "shit" in a post.
and if you were going to join a forum and somebody tries to flame you, would you just roll with it? it's not hard to empathise that the new guy is flamed for no apparent reson and retaliates in a dignified manner (dignified IMO anyway,)
Here is my philosophy: "Don't bollocks about and fucking get on with it." Simple yet effective.
Regards,
Alec
heyheyhey
i like to think that you can do anything if you try hard enough, because if you tell yourself that enough times you start to believe it.
like when you take the day off work because you have a 'really bad head ache, honest' and then you actually get a head ache. God i hate that.
anyway, other philosophies i like are
'how hard can it be?'
&
'everything works out in the end'
Oh yeah, it's been said already but 'what goes around comes around' is good too, cos you can laugh at bad people, safe in the knowledge that their life is going to become really crappy.
oh yeh, and rock on Tak!
What txt-style spelling?
Tak, it isn't that you have no right to post what you want.. it's just that he wasn't all that rude about it, he stated his opinion calmly and you over-reacted afterward. Besides that, he isn't a native english speaker and makes terrible grammatical errors that offend people's mothers sometimes, so you'd better get accustomed to it.
I know Spaniards have a terrible reputation for being newb-eaters, but give him a chance.
Dont over react Mr., geez. You seem hostile, and arguing for no reason is a big pet peeve of mine. Just realize that ags's general is not some cozy lounge to meet people and talk about the color of the grass, thats what irc is for ;) Quakenet #ags
Thats where you can meet fellow agsers on a more serious and humerous level. General here is more like a intresting occurence, a non ags related asking, or a discussion of current events.
Lighten up a bit, have fun. Thats what we are all about, adventures, chrisjones worshiping, and fun.
Yet another illogical rant from the LT

HAHAHA! look, i'm not actaully explosive or anything guys, this isn't my first forum though, and when somebody attacks you on your first post you'll lose alot of respect if you just roll with it.
This guys admitted he wasn't actually attacking just me, and i CAN see his point, I've told him that and he's.. abaited(?) anyway, no hard feelings. but if you wan't to insult my posts in the future, just mention that i have the sanity of post traumatic stress disoreder suffering inbred wealsh pedophile,.
