Quite major PQ3 problem

Yes, I know the game is old. By computer-standards, it's even ancient.

But, I've tried to run it again. I loved it back when I was a kid, but could never finish it. (Too hard, I guess). Now, I want to try again, but there seems to be a timer-related problem.

Whenever I get to the point (at the start of the game) where Sonny is supposed to get a call telling him to head to the Aspen Park, nothing happens. No call, nothing. Dispatch doesn't call.

Does anyone know of good emulators that *work* with this game?

PQ3 also has several timer bugs with the driving sequence that render it unplayable.

You could try DosBox, that might make it work.

o.O I never had a problem like that. It was that light speed driving what made me give up. ::) (Of course that driving was ridicilously hard even when the car moved as fast as it's supposed to. ¬.¬ )

There is no Timer bug as frustrating as the SQ1VGA or the SQ4  bug :'(, in one case you barely could escape from the Sariens when the "You hear footsteps behind" msg appeared, and in the other case it was impossible to escape in the Skate-O-Rama part from the Time Patrols.

I hear you!
Actually the on in SQ1VGA was quite simple to go around. Just crank the walking speed as high as possible. ;)
As for SQ4 one, it's not impossible just really really really hard and frustrating. I've beaten it twice, so if anyone says "Zap zap! You're dead!" again, I promise he'll/she'll be dead.

There used to be a patch on the sierra website specifically due to problems with PQ3 but I'm not sure if they are still bothering to support their old stuff, but worth a look.

There are a couple of programs that you can download to slow down your fast PC's "moslo" & "turbo" I have them somewhere if you can't find them on the net, try google

but even these programs don't work too well on these newer damned faster machines,

I got it to work for SQ1VGA (still really hard to achieve, but persistence pays)

But not for Q4G1VGA, right at the end in yoricks room in the brigands hideout, the door always closes too fast after you pull the rope (technically impossible)

It's funny that the problem in SQ4 has the problem only on the cd version that is also made for windows, But If you have the original floppy version with no speech, that was designed for DOS, it has no timing problems whatsoever and works perfectly if run straight through windows.

hehe boys and girls... remember the good old days of the "Turbo" button...

mine turned the 486 LED display from 33 to 66..

I've got a version of Moslo, not sure which one it is.  Get it here:

NOTE: Oh yah, & if this is legal or not I have no idea as well.  If someone discovers that it isn't, I'll remove the link. Cheers! ^^
