Reading minds would be my choice. But this mind control thing has got me thinking. Wouldn't controling minds require you to be able to read minds?

Depends on the type of control, I suppose. You don't have to be able to read to hit someone over the head with a book, but if you're going to write in the margins, you obviously have to know how to write... which isn't very well possible without being able to read as well.

As for me, I'm not sure. One possibility would be absurd implausible eyesight, including zoomy ability to the extent of easy scrutiny of extrasolar planets and whatnot.

If not that, the ability to inspire myself into doing anything for as long as I want. That'd be pretty neat.

If I had to choose one from the set of fairly standard powers, though...I'd probably go with shapechange.  Preferably a very broad, turn-into-just-about-anything kind of shapechange (rather than limited to turning into animals, or changing my appearance but remaining basically human, etc.--though those would both be useful applications of the power).

I would have the ability to make time rewind itself. It wouldn't be years, or even weeks. I'm talking about half a minute. And then I'd have to rejuvinate my powers for an hour before the ability is available again.

If I was super powered then yeah I'd totally f*ck with the timeline!
