ManicMatt, many animals that can see in the dark do not get blinded by sunlight.  Nightvision and well-lit vision require different types light sensitive cells, I would wish that the ones for detecting shapes and depth in low light levels were much stronger. 

Also, have you ever fallen asleep in the day or with the light on?

I'd like to be able to become invisible. Not in a Hollow Man kind of way where it wasn't reversable and i became a deranged invisible lunatic, but more like a Memoirs of an Invisible Man way.

I promise not to walk into lady's dressing rooms while invisible. I would probably only become invisible while driving. Yes, that's it.

Which I would then use to i) amass an enormous fortune, and fund research into getting me some more superpowers, and ii) get ahold of other people's powers by being there when the meteorite/lightning bolt/radioactive spider hits, and knocking them out of the way.

This question originated in a debate whether one would choose extreme physical strength (to be strong like the professional strong-man competitors, yet unchanged to your appearance) or extremely intelligent.
Even though the intelligence would be much more useful, I think I would have gone for the strength.
I mean, every time you end up in a group of people who are all very dumb, you feel very awkward and depressingly alienated. To feel that all the time would probably drive a person to suicide.

The power to think at incredible speeds, which would render learning a much quicker task, as would things like reading and solving problems, and because of this hightened nerve response of the brain make me super-witty.

So yea my super-power would be quick thinking, you may think it's lame, you may yell "How's that going to stop Magneto from eating all the salsa dip", but I think it would be cool...

If we're talking about crime-fighting type of powers it would have to be being bulletproof or some suchness, that way I would have no fear of death or injury and so would be able to stop the baddies... yeah!!!!

I would have originally said to fly, but then I remembered that I would want telekenesis. I want to be able to turn things off from across the room, bring the remote over, fight bad guys, open sodas, make myself levitate, make the bed ... whatever.

I've thought about it though, if real telekenetics were to come about, professional sports would be seriously hurt by if anyone could be messing with it. We might even need to come up with some device to detect if someone is currently using them.. oh it'd be such a hassle.

My first thought for a desired superpower was to be able to kick ass like River Tam, but I realise I could just train really hard, and I can already kind of kick ass anyways (I got an A in kickboxing ), so I should choose another..

I suppose teleportation would be next, I would spend all day doing cool acrobatic tricks and stuff. If I could get my hands on a decent space suit with life-support for once, I would venture into outer space stutter-warp style \o/.
