Title: Where to find good affiliate programs?
Post by: Joseph DiPerla on Tue 02/12/2003 19:51:50
As you all may have heard of a while ago, I am creating a new Website related to Adventure Games, SCI, SCUMM, AGI etc...

I bought the web host and I also have the website almost complete.

Not only that, but you will all also have a place to view screenshots and progress on my three games:

Simpsons: Springfield Woes
Simpsons: Where's Maggie
Escape from Godzilla

In order for these games to be downloadable, I am gonna need bandwidth. And that is expensive.

Does anyone know where I can get a good affiliate program where you get paid per click that visitors do? Not just a program where the user has to sign up to a site and then you get credit for it.

Thanks in advance.

If you've got paid web hosting, bandwidth shouldn't be a problem unless your games are absolutely massive. This website costs me $7.95 per month and gets 30 GB of bandwidth, which is more than enough.

If you really do need extra cash to pay the bandwidth bills, your site has to be popular - I believe most affiliate schemes need at least 100000 hits per month to give you a banner.

Yeah, I get 12 gb bandwidth a month. For each additional gig it would cost $2.

When I uploaded my first few demos of my simpsons game, I lost 1 gig of bandwidth a day on my free providers, and of course then I got booted for that. The demo was about 3-4 megs. It is now atleast double that size.

See, for my simpsons game, I have pretty much everyone from nohomers.net and simpforums.com.

Thats why I needed an affiliate program or banner program so that I can make payments for the bandwidth.

I will try and look up that cactus search thing. Hopefully it could help in the slightest way.

Thanks guys.
