Hello.
Tell us about your favourite AGS game that you are itching to see in the cinema :). And who do you suppose the actors would be if it did make it into a movie? If you can, describe the game, but remember no spoilers!
So, which AGS game would it be?
For me it would definitely be the Chzo Mythos by Yathzee.
The first AGS game that I really can't stop playing because of the way the story was crafted. And also because of Trilby! Wonderful character :). After I finished playing it, I feel this urge to see it in film. I tried to make a fan fiction out of it but decided not to (I have no capabilities in finishing work I started and also because I'm not good at writing fan fics....:sad:).. Anyways, the idea of seeing it in movie form is still here with me.. I have no idea who the actors would be though.
Gemini Rue with Joseph Fiennes in the lead role and Christopher Walken as the creepy Director guy.
Also I think Puzzlebots would make a fantastic animated movie
Heroine's Quest :P
Also, I'd like to see David Lynch's take on the cult classic, Snail Quest. And of course, we already have a movie of The Secret Of Monkey Island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_the_Caribbean:_The_Curse_of_the_Black_Pearl)!
Reactor 09!

Alien Time Zone! Directed by James Cameron.
Low Budget Indy Flick - The Shivah
Big Budget - Primordia
Screwball Comedy - Time Gentleman Please!
Ben Jordan! Perhaps a prequel to the game series featuring Ben's grandfather on a case! :P
The default game template, starring Matthew McConaughey as Roger.
I've always wanted to see Tim Allen play Captain Disaster! 8-)
Educating adventures of girl and rabbit, with George Clooney voicing the rabbit, and obviously Justin Timberlake as the girl.
Infinite Monkeys- and Deep Roy plays EVERYONE.
Well, The Bum of course. With Rick Moranis and David Caruso :)
"All In The Game" as a Pixar film.
Thalia James (the vet CGMS agent) voiced by Siguorney Weaver.
The new recruit (forgot his name) voiced by: Jesse Eisenberg (dude from Zombieland and Social Network)

What about Rob Brydon as Captain D? He'll do a better job with the accent. Tim Allen will just sound like Buzz Lightyear.
I would vote for Primordia, but I would still prefer it as a game.
The Legend of Leitor's Edge would make a great movie directed by Steven Spielberg.
On a serious note, I second the Trilby games, especially 5 days and Trilby's Notes. Hopefully they would be more directed toward the mystery and thrills rather than turning it in to a hack-n-slash screamer.
A great comedy I think would be the Larry Vales games.
Another great comedy would have to be Charlie Foxtrot and the Galaxy of Tomorrow, perhaps in the vein of the Monty Python films.
Technobablyon pls! Noomi Rapace as Latha Sesame and it's a hit already!
I'd want to see Primordia, just to see a film representation of the atmosphere and characters. But absolutely no CGI. Like the robots as animotronics. Get the people from The Dark Crystal to work on it, imagine how cool that would look.

It would have to be a series, and it would have to be done by Disney. Disney has the money to do the Saga justice.
Directed by Uwe Boll and presumably using footage from the actual games. Perfect.

On a further note, KING'S QUEST. Yes, it isn't an AGS game. But there has been a remake and that should count for something and I wanna see it. I have the popcorn right here. Sam Ramii can be director, I want Bruce Campell to make a cameo, there will be lots of modernized pop culture references, and it will be glorious.
Later someone will make a video game based on the movie based on the video game, and that one will have a tie-in novel.

Tim Allen plays the character, Timothy Spall provides the voice. :-D
As mentioned by others, Primordia as a film would be awesome. As long as it wasn't directed by Michael Bay.

Bruce Campbell
MUST play the evil imprisoning sorcerer in the AGS KQ3 (I think it was KQ3)
I've got a sneaky wish to see Owen Wilson playing Graham of Daventry! Um... I've lost my mind, right?
At least we already have a Monkey Island movie.
But CD's suggestion made me start thinking of actor choices so horrible they're great.
Shia Lebouf as Simon in Simon the Sorcerer 2?(Might be a bit too old now, though)
Megan Fox as Rosella in KQ4?
Morgan Freeman as old haggard Graham in KQ5 (Cedric can be voiced by Shia)?
Zach Braff as Roger Wilco?
Samuel L. Jackson as Sam and...errr.....Kevin Spacey as Max? (dunno how that'd work-probably through camera trickery)
Mark Wahlberg as Ben in Full Throttle?
Paul Giamatti as Leisure Suit Larry?
Jason Statham as Foster and Joey voiced by Tom Hanks in Beneath a Steel Sky?
Jennifer Aniston as Laura Bow?

It would be interesting to say the least- I mean, COULD you make a movie based on Sam&Max without them looking like a dog and rabbit BUT maintaining their personality? That really could work.
Could work...

Was actually thinking of that too! Sam & Max as humans (played by those actors), but retaining their personality and dialogue and such. Would be like some sort of psychotic dark comedy buddy cop movie ;D.
Heroine's Quest, hands down. The question is which character type.
On a side note, I think it'd be great if Reality-on-the-Norm would be a TV series. Maybe an animated sitcom. (laugh)
[Add on] Though another option for a blockbuster film would be James Peris. Maybe even have it in Spanish with English subtitles.
Don't Push The Button.
Now a major feature film (planned).
Tim Curry will play the button.
Director, no idea. But maybe Michael Bay or the Shamilyan guy. Then one with the twist endings.
The twist, you ask? You DID solve the game, right?
The twist is that there is no explosion.
Or wait, maybe Rutger Hauer can play the button. Then Tim Curry would have to play the options menu but thats okay he is a talented actor.
Or, hey.
Hey.
Wait. Better.
Noomi Rapace plays the options menu, Tim Curry plays the Countdown, I just googled and found Rutger Hauer doesn't do acting anymore, so the button could maybe by played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who just picked up acting again.
Yes.
I'll be totally honest, personally I would prefer Vanessa Mae playing the button, Tim Curry as Vanessa Mae's stunt double, Noomi Rapace as the Countdown, Schwarzenegger as Rapace's stunt double (for the tricky split seconds), and Mimi Rogers as the options menu.
But we all know Schwarzenegger is a Large Ham and countdowns need to be played in a more subtle manner, so I'll just stop typing now.
Did Vanessa Mae ever act? Or was that Björk? How is it possible to confuse the two?
Probably the lack of sleep.
No, got it now, definitely Vanessa Mae. Björk is probably a hundred years old by now.
She COULD play the twist ending though, that's fair game.
If for some reason an animated monkey is required (I think selmiak hinted towards that in the secret level) I think this would be an awesome opportunity to make Zack Braff reprise his role from Oz The Great and Powerful. He's a surprisingly good monkey, though admittely he's just a scrub at it compared to more trained monkeys.
I think the movie will kick ass. Teaser Line: "You Didn't Push The Button, Now Don't Watch The Movie!"

If we're going that direction, I'd like the Quest for Glory Saga as a series of 5 films. That would be really cool to see.
And I'll support the suggestions for Heroine's Quest. That's a great story, and it could work well as a movie.
Ben Jordan would work as a series much like many of the YA book series out there, Blackwell I think would actualy work better as a TV series than movies. Reactor 09 would be a in interesting one also. And if games like Mario, mortal combat and double dragon can get the movie treatment why not The art of Dying? The Samaritan Paradox also had a story that would work well as a modern/fantasy like neverending story or time bandits was.
Why do we need movies anyway? It's just a waste of money...
Wait, forget what I just said. I remember now that we need movies to exist. Something is nonexistent until someone makes a movie about it. Someone should make a movie about AGS.
Forget movies about AGS games. We should have a movie based on the AGS forums! Charlie Sheen can play janosbiro, Daniel Bruhl to play Selmiak, Johnny Depp to play both Icey Games and Kris, while the rest of the cast should be made up of Scandanacian actors and actresses with completely unpronounceable names.
Charlie Sheen? That's how much you hate me?

Dibs on Mads Mikkelsen!
As for movies, I'm thinking of ThreeOhFour's games, PISS in particular. Something expanding on the lore would be nice. Barely Floating comes to mind, too, with David Lynch directing. And I can't be the only one who wants to see a Nancy the Cordial Courtesan movie.
In Portugal, Scandinavian actors have their testicles removed if they take Portuguese roles.
Ha! Alien Time Zone... pixar style! Oh alright SKG if they must.
:D
Miguel is really starting to freak me out...
You're safe Captain, unless you're coming to Portugal in July...

Do they have stunt doubles for that? The testicles, I mean. Admit it. You have stunt testicles over there, haven't you?
Stunt testicles from ages 12+, metal plates are 18+ and...Wait...you don't wear tungsten re-enforced metal plates to cover the eier-bag?

Here's a third vote for a movie based on the Trilby games!
Donna: Avenger of Blood with the canon ending. Shot in black and white!
Other Worlds, one of the first AGS games I played.
But I have to agree with the consensus that the Chzo Mythos is long overdue for a film adaptation!
Weren't there also talks of The Cat Lady becoming a film?
An LA producer is pitching TCL to Hollywood directors/writers (such as him (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0466925/?ref_=tt_ov_wr)) yes, but it hasn't turned up trumps yet (that we know of).
There was a time we considered making a low-budget adaptation of 5DAS. I can't remember if that was ever more than a discussion with Yahtzee. Also, SS Wilson is willing to write a proper Ben Jordan movie for the appropriate writers guild fee! Someone got a spare $50k? :D Ultimately though, we're working towards an original (non-game) movie (funded by Kickstarter most likely). Currently titled "Drones", a batteries not included meets tremors movie :P
