Thanks, that saves me $500. Also when i bought Morrowind everyone said it needed the top of the notch graphic card but my Nvidia Geforce MX 440 played it just as smoothly as it ever did on the Xbox GOTY version so maybe i could find some shitty little graphic card to play oblivion and i would like to know how much difference 128mb and 256mb make and is it worth the cash?

the extra memory does make a difference so you should always go for a 256mb card.
personally i have a 256mb AOpen GeForce 6800GT which is pretty good and they're not uber-expensive, but now you can probably get an Ultra for the same price i paid for the GT, the 6800 Ultra is pretty much the best AGP card you can get, the Radeon 9800XT is also a good card but they are power hungry and have a tendancy to overheat, radeon cards also don't work that well in computers with ASUS motherboards with VIA chipsets, something i only found out after frying my 9800XT by hooking a seperate PSU up to it because i thought the lockups were caused by the card not getting enough power, and then buying a 256mb 9600XT (which isn't a bad card for the price).

You fried a 9800XT!, that must of been an expensive mistake, I recently frieda power supply and a motherboard, ordered a new Pentium 2 motherboad only to find out my case isnt compatible with it... It was like a slot 1 or something.

BOYD1981

yep, and in the same week i broke an AGP slot on a pc when the graphics card decided it didn't want to come out, and i had an old TNT2 card stop working for no good reason.

You can afford to wreck video cards i cant...i am poor, probably because I'm 11 years old but oh well I'm still poor...its my parents you see......IVE GOT IT, i will ring up the police and tell them my parents molestered me! that always works!

I have everything required except the Ghz! I have a 1.81 Ghz 64+ 64 athlon.

Will I get it running at all?

It says "equivalent." If it runs on a Pentium 4 It should run more than fine on any 64 bit CPU.

ManicMatt

Oh, thanks! my knowledge of computer chips these days is somewhat out of date!

BOYD1981

the thing to remember about Athlons is that they out perform or perform just aswell as a Pentium a few hundred MHz faster then them, it's why AMD don't really bother putting the speed in the name anymore...
