Hello people of AGS (Long time, no see, eh?)
I'm handing out a handful of invitations to gmail, to those who need it.

Just post here if you use your e-mail regulary (This means if you get a lot of e-mails), and are in the need for more space and are willing to switch. If you are using it rarely, you don't need the invitation.

Also, I'm giving away a free invitation to Windows Live Messenger, if you can prove you're worth it. I have no idea how.

I could mention the need of someone to work with me on something. Freeware, of course. You can, if you want Windows Live Messenger, contact me through pm.

If you want gmail, please reply to this thread.

Anyway, I would need your e-mail address for both, and I'll pick a lucky winner for the Windows Live Messenger invitation.

Cheers.

AIM's mail is about the same and anyone can get it ;)

Is this whole invitation thing really still going on?

Is there anyone left who wants an account but doesn't have an invitation?

How long does a Google Beta last?

Why is the sky blue?

If there's interest for it, but it seems no one cares.. really. It's been read 85 times, and no replies :P

Though, I thought the interest for WLM was bigger...

This is due to a phenomena called "Rayleigh Scattering".

Basically, as the light moves through the atmosphere, the shorter wavelength (blue light) is absorbed by the gas molecules in the atmosphere.  The longer wavelengths (such as red, orange, and yellow) pass through.  The blue light is "scattered" through the atmosphere, thus the sky appears blue.

Anyway ... back on topic!

Jannar - Welcome back!  There was a multi-page thread about gMail awhile back, which may explain the lack of responses in here.  That, and most people already have gmail addresses :)

I already have a gMail address and, as such, do not need another, but thanks for the offer!

As for the help you require, I'd suggest posting in the ACR thread!  You're bound to get a better response in there.  That is, if it's AGS related, of course :)

Well, there are proxy programs all around the internet that allow anyone to use the Live Messenger beta, so...

Google Betas last usually about 0 to infinity - 1 years...but that's just based off of my personal experiences, I'm not any sort of expert.

I already have Gmail, and I like it.  I think it's the best thing since...well...some other thing that I liked a lot.

And if anyone wants a Gmail invite... I have 100 of them...all the time...I send one out every once in a while...in fact a few weeks back I sent 100 to the same person simply because he called it stupid :P.  But they always replenish my invites in a few days.

But using the proxy will disable some features, plus it's illegal.

Thanks Darth :) I appreciate it.
Where are all the old users, really?

I don't know if the invite feature really "works" anymore. I tried inviting a friend and gmail said i'm abusing the system. wtf, and it was my first invite too. :S

Well. I've used the proxied version and now I've officially gone beta and I'm not seeing any changes. :P

1. Yes, it should continue that way. It's keeping the spammers out.

2. Probably not, there's automated bots you can use to get them.

3. A long time, possibly forever. This is good, it's keeping the idiots out.

4. HTTP ERROR - TRANSMISSION CUT SHORT

If this is true:

Then how does this make sense? :

Because it's hard to find the bots that have any invites left?
