c'mon, admit it - you watch the show.  i want to see bo bice or constantine win or that anwar guy

Domino

Sorry, but none of them.  I used to like American Idol, but now it seems so boring and stale.

I do enjoy watching the auditions, but after that, it got really old for me.  I might be in the minority, but i like Simon.  I think he is the only reason that makes the show somewhat watchable.

Bo Bice or Nadia.  They are the only ones who really light up the stage.

I think Constantine is terrible.  He reminds me of Smeagol.  Anwar was better in the beginning, but has gotten worse.  Carrie is boring.  She has a great voice, but no presense.  Same with Scott.  He has amazing control, but his stage presence is boring.  Anthony is just pitiful.  Vonzell and Nikko are hit and miss.  Sometimes they are fantastic, and sometimes they are awful.

Yep, Constantine (now that Michaela is gone - god, I DESPISED her) is now the guy I want to most to be gone next. He just sucks, and he sticks of too much ego.

Bo, on the other hand, is fantastic. He outshines everyone else.

I can't stand the show anymore. Apart from the fact that I'm in Australia, so I couldn't vote even if I wanted to (which makes the show pointless in the first place...), I'm over the "next big super star" thing. I mean, people like Kelly Clarkson are still doing okay, but you'd never guess that at one stage she had an entire country pouring money into her win. She's just another singer, and I think most people aren't that interested in her anymore. On the whole, though, the winners seem to be one-song/one-album wonders, and then they just become another artist on the charts that no one's really interested in. I know that's certainly how I feel about every single person who got a contract from Australian Idol.

To make it worse, it's like there's a sudden overload of it, with shows like Popstars and X-Factor running as well. My ears can't handle much more crappy singing :(

While I agree with you on the whole overflow of the idol stuff, I think you're wrong about Kelly.  She recently started her first solo tour here in America, and every concert was sold out in two days.  SHe is played on the radio here all the time, MTV is calling her the current first lady of pop, and her albums are still selling like hotcakes.  The release of her second album really boosted her up, and she is getting away from the whole American Idol thing.  The rest of the Idols really aren't doing much, besides guest appearances here and there, so I agree with you on the rest.  Just not the Kelly thing, because she is genuinely doing really well in the business.

In the UK, I think Pop Idol killed itslef with the second series. It suffered from losing David and Carrie Grant to Fame Academy but also basically no-one voted on quality, but rather on who they thorught needed the votes most: thus all the best people went out earlier on. The girl who won did so becuase people thought she would break the mould (she wieghed 18 stone which is OK for Ruben, but....)

I also found her really irritating and didn't like her voice. Her first and only single was a hit and you can now get her album for 99p in bargain bins.

On the other hand the first series had two excellent singers at the end and Will has recently been spotted high up in the UK entertainment rich list (which I notice the Wiggles have topped in Aussie, with Kylie only in 14th!)

X-Factor had numerous disasters: Kate Thornton showing how  the great presenter of a behind-the-scenes programme on ITV2 for Pop Idol could really make a mess of presenting the main X-Factor; Judges refusing to stick to the rules so they had to change them and Sharon Orbourne completely misunderstaning how people vote by annoucnign that her guy in the competition was already offered a record contract, thus immediatley wiping out half his vote, as he obviously didnt need it. Not to mention the whole male voice choir does pop thing having been done before.

Will, Gareth and Girls Aloud have done pretty good though

Yeah, I was wondering what happened to Pop Idol ... if it was Michelle McManus winning that killed it off, then thank god she did  ;)

I like Kelly Clarkson.  Always have.  But I wish someone would shoot Clay Aiken... he always reminds me of the kid who played Scott Farkus in the movie "A Christmas Story".

Clay's a kind of a dork, but MAN, he's got a good voice.  Sorry, when he sings... wowza!

Oh, I've got another one!... He also kinda looks like the kid who ate the pubic hair pizza in "She's All That".

OH, I think Clay is much better looking than THAT guy.  Gross.

Actually I'm pretty sure that Clay guy is Alfred E. Neuman and American Idol is all a big Mad joke that most people just don't get.

I'll watch the auditions every season, but usually stop there. My favorite has
got to be Leroy Wells. His audition was spectacular, but he was sent home :'(.

What's really sad about that is that really good people get turned away, so those bad people can be entertaining for you.  I went to the auditions in Las Vegas this year.  There are actually TWO ROUNDS of auditions that go on, before you even get to the round you see on television.  Over 15,000 people were there, and every single one of them auditioned.  It's like a big cattle call.  Thing is, I saw many many people who were leagues better than the ones who are on the show now, and they were turned away, yet people like Mary Roach and Leroy are let through, because they are "entertaining".  My boyfriend and I auditioned, and neither of us made it past the first round.  But, anybody with a funny costume, or some kind of gimmick made it through.  I didn't care as much that I didn't make it, but he really should have.  He's fantastic.  I mean, we met a lot of people that could sing circles around us, and they didn't make it either.  Yet you see all those horrible people on tv.  For us, it kindof took away from the entire show.  It's not so much a talent contest as it is a reality show.

Incidently, the only reason we were able to even go to the audition was because we had just taken 1st and second place in a karaoke contest, which combined got us 1400 dollars.  Plus, we are both performing lead vocals in a rock opera that is debuting this weekend.... so Idol really didn't discourage us.

I completely agree, there is no justice in the judges decisions. Leroy is entertaining, mostly because you're laughing at, not with him. Honestly, my favorite through all the seasons (Besides Fantasia, I picked her from the start) is Paula Fuga, the Hawaiian girl whom I though was truly great, but was not picked up in the audition round because of her weight. If she ever releases anything, I would likely buy it.

It is sad that the judges even state that the "idol" should be easy on the eyes. There was another large woman that tried out this season, Simon said the "That was good, but honestly, it's the way you look that prevents you from advancing" sort of thing. He's an ass.
