Not so hidden.

I just noticed that if you look at a laptop screen from below, you can sometimes see hidden text.  ;D
Not always though, it doesn't seem to work every time. :-\

try it:
Spoiler

Sorry, just me thinking out loud... :P

Let me guess; you have been experimenting for hours and hours to find a way of revealing that hidden text?

No, actually.
I just was slouching in my chair and looked at the screen.
It looked like a smudge on the screen at first, but when I checked to see what the hidden text said, it looked just like it, only less faint/grey.

I can't seem to get it to work again.
Ah well.

EDIT: wow, this looks like a UFO sighting story... :P

Reason for this is the post highlighting. When the post is highlighted (green) the background and text in spoiler area are not the same anymore. Actually with my monitor I can read the spoiler text looking at it normally and just focusing, especially if I zoom in on the page (increase font size). You can highlight the post by clicking the post title.

Aye, I've noticed that too- though I only get the highlighting with Google Chrome, not the regular IE.
The effect is a bit odd, I always thought the hues of text would somehow be... well, SCIENTIFICALLY calculated to always work (in this case, simply match the "hidden panel" colour). It's what I would've done.

I remembered when this was implemented CJ mentioned something about not being able to make the text colours a 100% match with the post background colours, and thus we end up with this.

You can always highlight spoilers when you want to read them anyway. They're not here to prevent you from reading them, but to keep you from doing so if you don't want to read them. As the texts are barely visible even if the colours don't match anway, there's no need to make your eyes blind by trying to peep the text in this way.

Hmmm. AGS Forums: The Only Place Where You Can Write Stuff No-One Can Read!
Would that get us higher up in Google(tm) searches? Think about it! The piquant smell of uber-eliteness! We could decidedly write stuff for not being read! Such a non-readable post would be, wow, sort of a metaphor! For so many things!! Amazing!!! Art!!!! You hear me: ART!!!!!

I really need to quit the cinnamon rock-candy.

The real trick is to not use spoiler tags at all. :P You can specify a color of transparent just like the normal CSS value and unless your browser is totally screwing up the text will only be readable whilst highlighted (or quoted).
