Hello again all
I left this post for a while and i can only presume no one likes the wii OR no one has it
Ne ways im gonna now leave my Pal Pad code so that if anyone wants to add me to their Pokemon Pal pad for Battles/Trades they can if you want
3995 5356 0029
Note if you add my code please PM me with your code so it works lol
What are these codes? They're not like... Usernames, are they? They look extremely complicated. Any logic in the numbers...? ???
Nintendo is afraid children will get molested so they created the friend code system.
I give you my long friend code, you give me yours, we become friends over Wii or DS and then we can email each other and play like 2 or 3 games[?]
If they had an xboxlive style of friends system, this console would have so much more potential online. As it stands I think friend codes are going to be abandoned or kill the multiplayer aspect of games.
IN MY OPINION
I...M...H...O...
Nintendo have always resisted establishing an "modern" online multiplayer infrastruture/community, such as XBox Live, etc, for no other explainable reason than "We just don't want to."
They weren't so picky back in the 8-bit and 16-bit days though; the NES had a modem to connect it to a dedicated Nintendo server, and the SNES had Satellaview (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellaview). Neither provided the ability for multiplayer gaming, and from the N64 onwards, save for the stillborn online features of the 64DD, Nintendo seemed to lose interest.
The Gamecube had a few half-arsed attempts at online play, with a couple of games supporting basic multiplayer modes and such, but they never amounted to much. The Wii seems to be Nintendo's first "serious" attempt at community gaming.
I'm not much for online play myself, and seeing as the best of Nintendo's inhouse games have always been designed, for the most part, as single-player experiences (though Nintendo always had a soft spot for "gather 'round the TV"-type four-player gameplay; indeed, they may have perfected it), I can understand their reluctance.
This gaming generation seems to be all about teh online, though. Not that anything, including the promise of repeated bouts of gratis oral sex, would tempt me back to XBox Live.
If I wanted obnoxious people shouting obscenities in my ear, I'd go to the pub.
I must admit that im pretty narked off about the whole Friend code thing too, Why not just open the doors a bit nintendo ?.
