Title: Wiisure Suit Larry?
Post by: Tiki on Thu 21/12/2006 20:56:05
http://www.bbspot.com/News/2006/12/leisure-suit-larry-wii.html

"In the new release, 'Leisure Suit Larry: Upstanding Citizen,' the Wiimote will be placed into a strap-on harness for a whole new angle on the game. Now you won't only have to get the women to agree to a little bump-and-tickle, you will also have to please them enough that they don't lose interest."

"With the Wiimote strapped firmly on your hips, you must thrust and gyrate in a "pleasing" manner. For the sexually inept, your conquest just may fail and she will fall asleep, turn the TV on or just get up and leave. Those that you satisfy will earn you libido points and help you as you go along. But enough bad reviews and the girls will be laughing and pointing at you as you walk by."

Probably fake, but evoked a nice mental image all the same.

Even if a game like that were currently in development. I am about 100% sure that Nintendo would never approve it.

But, i have to admit, that i would definitely buy the game if it were real. Even though it would be weird strapping the Wiimote to certain areas of my body.  :)

The DS has a commercial porn game in development. The name of the blog it was featured on escapes me, but the  game featured witchhunters whose preferred method of detecting potential witches among nubile girls was extended genital stimulation. The stylus was used extensively, I believe.

The game was, of course, Japanese.

FINALLY a game I'd be really good at!!

The pornographic content of that game has been greatly exaggerated by a number of bloggers with photoshop skills.  It's not nearly as dirty as you think it is.  There is no "genital stimulation."  (Sorry, Darth)

Still, I'm not going to say that it's not quite creepy...  but it's just not as bad as you think it is.

I was referring the Wiisure Suit Larry concept ... but I also excel at discovering witches by genital stimulation too.

I guess Wiisure Suit Larry wouldn't be the type of game you would play with your children or if your grandparents came in from out of town. How would multiplayer work?  ;)

Admittedly, Hentai games would fit rather well on the DS. Dunno about the Wii, though.

Thrusting the wiimote at a polygon vagina on your TV set seems too much like hard work. :-\

Edit: Actually, any mainstream console-based game with sexual content would struggle to get published in America. Now more than ever, I would imagine.

Off topic, I always find the double-standards of US-based publishers of Hentai games to be pretty creepy.

They go out of their way to say something such as "All of the characters portrayed in this game are over 18 years of age", when some of the characters featured clearly appear childlike.

Of course, this is mostly down to the original Lolikon-esque design of the characters themselves, but there are plenty of Hentai games they could publish were such a mistake couldn't be made. :-\

And you know this because....?
Anyway I know of two hentai games that were a lot of fun and more then just boob jobs.
"Cobra Mission" a delightful old school console type rpg with random encounters, puzzles, and bosses. In some ways almost feels like spoof of the genre, like some knights of !"?? ??" game. Another good game, was "true love" technacly a life simulater, though the main character gets a a lot of sex, it takes some work on your part.

Because I have an interest in all areas of the Japanese games industry, and how its products are rejigged and repackaged for consumption in the West. It can be a very telling way to judge how western eyes view something primarily manufactured for an eastern audience.

Apart from religion, nothing causes a culture divide quite like sex does.

Hentai is probably most western gamers primary exposure to how sex is portrayed in Japan, mainstream or otherwise.

Translation: whacking it to cartoons of little girls.

And you read Hustler for the articles, right?

:)

No, I would use Hustler primarily as a masturbatory aid. :-*

My original point about sex in video games, primarily those exported from Japan (and let's face it, the number of pornographic videogames produced outside Japan is relatively small in comparison), is that without any cultural reference, Japan can seem to be a country full of panty-sniffing, toilet seat-licking rapists, and schoolgirl hentai is available on every street corner.

Just as I am annoyed that Ireland can be portrayed as an emerald green, leaprechaun-infested kingdom of wonder, I'm sure somebody from Japan would be just as miffed.

Or like how America can seem to be a country full of gun-toting, bible-clutching morons who wouldn't know the true meaning of freedom and justice if it came up and took a shit in their bowl of Lucky Charms.

...

What? :P

Virtual sex in all its galore, but really, I don't think pelvis thrusts would be that fun.. unless ofcourse you add drink and friends with sadistic humour. "Dude, you made her fall asleep, lol!" I think the porn industry and gaming industry will never mesh together into a concept that appeals to both audiences. Bouncy boobies in Dead or Alive or "Simulation Sex" dvds with your random porn star might probably be as close as you can get.

.. or Sex Olympics ofcourse!  :=

Wii is an interesting console, but due crappy graphics and high cost, I don't understand the hype at all. For that money (plus cost of a LSL game), you could either visit brothel for some real action or spend it on dinners & gifts to find a mate for life. Who needs such games?
Alright, hentai... I guess it has proven itself as an art & fetish genre. But cartoony 3D?
For me it sounds as bad as whacking off to a Lode Runner on NES.
