Actually a long time ago when I was in Macedonia, and the US was bombing Kosovo, we had to run to our bunkers (underground structures covered in sandbags to protect from shrapnel from bombs and mortars and the like) and I was on a MUD (multi user dungeon) and the air raid siren went off... and on gossip (the main global chat channel) I said AFK, Air raid siren is going off...

I didn't come back for 2 hours... alot of people were freaking... it was funny...

and Femme.... I'm angrier than you, I just hide it better :P (reference the statement under her avatar)

That is funny and terrifying at the same time.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

I'm glad that you're alive.  ;)

I once survived to a huge attack by a huge group of Zergs... IT is true, life is better after that sort of things...  :)

No, actually... I haven't been in a dangerous situation, but I've been in situations which can turn into something really dangerous eventually, like bicycle races or mountain downhills, situations involving people badly hurted, or even dying. I can't say how would I react in front of a battle, but I maneged quite well against fear that days...

But as I said in the "what makes scary an horrour film?" thread, the most terrorific scenes I've ever seen were D-day in "Private Ryan" and "d-day -1" in "Band of Brothers". I would really like to be hipnotized or something to know how would I react into those situations, because otherwise there is no way to know, I supose...
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

War is shit.
I'm glad i only experienced it for 10 days (i was around 12 back then)... just as we had referendum on independence of Slovenia and secession from former Yugoslavia.
Thankfuly nothing too seriously bad happened, but stuff like going to bunker at 7am as sirens went on, seeing tank barricades and millitary vehicle on streets and even hearing some shooting, was really weird and unsettling experience.
At that time, as i was still quite little, it all seemed even a bit adventurous to me... but today, as i think back and see what shit came out from this war (in other former republics), i get goosebumps how close we were to disaster.

Its sort of interesting that those who have actually been the crossfires of war are the first to make light of it. I'm sitting here reading about am not amused at all, but I remember the exchange student we had from Isreal. She spoke of the battle back at home with such a trivial manner, as if she knew no other life but that in eternal warfare. I guess when you are exposed to it over and over again, you just have to get used to it and shrug it off because there is nothing you can really do about it. But  to someone like me who isn't desensitised (spelling?) its hard to imagin.
