So I bought and installed the upgrade version of win8 (which is the "Downloadable Pro for $39.99 ERP") on my win7pro machine.
After (or during) the install I created the win8 image file.
I now need to reinstall it so I booted this image (from dvd)
It collects info (step 1) and during step 2 it asks for the product key.
The problem: it won't accept my product key!
Did I made any typo's: no.
Did anyone had this same issue or does someone know what to do now?
I didn't try the next 2 options because now I still have win8 running and option 2 might result in not getting win8 installed at all...:
1. download the win8 manager from the official site and run it
2. reinstall win7pro and download the win8 manager from the official site and run it
??
I don't use MS Win, but is there a way to contact a customer service?
You have a license/receipt and all so they should be quite prompt in helping.
Keep us informed!
There's seems to be a mention of Updating Win7 before you Upgrade to Win8:
http://www.gigabyte.com/WebPage/104/step-upgrade.html
http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57479377-285/how-to-prepare-your-pc-for-windows-8/
Did you do all that?
@Bici:
Yes, I know. But that will be my last option.
I hope there are more ways to fix this...
@Anian:
Yep, did these step. My win7 was completely updated.

I'm first gonna download and run the win8 installation manager again in stead of booting from the iso created by ther win8 installer...
Looks like that iso is more a recovery disc then a complete clean installation disc.
I know you said it's a last resort, but just call customer service. I had to do that and waited as a last resort a few months back and it was literally a 20 minute call. They logged into my system to make sure everything was legit and gave me a new key on the spot, not just entered it in, but gave it to me as a text file.
It was faster than the three hours of google searches I had done previously to try and fix the issue.
Well, I've re-installed Win7Pro and removed my partition to get a clean install.
Then I downloaded and run the Win8-Manager again.
I filled in the product key and it was accepted.
