It was a good video.  It must really suck to live life like that, but it seems it made him a stronger person for it.

The people crying at the end made it a very touching video.

IndieBoy

Good for him going around and talking to people about his life. Although is it wrong that I want to see him try to do the worm?

The only person in favour of the mobs seems to be IndieBoy.. but he's scottish so we dont listen to him anyway.

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

The level of determination some disabled people have is very humbling.

InCreator

Liked the start. A humorous guy in a condition I could imagine extremely miserable, being is such good and optimistic mood, cracking jokes etc...
Didn't like second part, all the emotional messaging, crowd feeling seemingly uncomfortable, etc.

Khris

Two things I think are worth mentioning:

He was born like that, so he didn't have to deal with a "I suddenly lost all limbs" situation, just with his envy of all other people being healthy. (Not to say that isn't also hard, but loosing them in an accident is much, much harder to overcome. If I lost all four limbs, I'd kill myself. And I was already incredibly frustrated when I couldn't use one arm for a few months due to a wrist injury, so I mean it.)

He isn't touring the world just to give people hope but to reinforce their belief in God.
He reminds me of the religious people in New Orleans whose belief got even stronger after their homes got turned into drift wood.

(btw: I don't want to start a religious discussion, seriously. Just thought I'd throw it in while the thread's still young.)

Yes, and he's been here not long ago. Ads were posted in train stations, etc., trying to convince people into believing God because how he leads a meaningful life, blah bla bla.

But anyway, without doubt, he's still an amazing person.

I'd love to buy his DVD but I bet it costs an...

Awesome guy, I love to see people with such handicaps just getting on with it rather than moping around feeling sorry for themsleves... I know I would...

I think I posted this in the 'Awesome Video' thread a while ago, but I'll chuck it here, too as its along the same lines.

The religious part makes it less cool, but the dude's a wicked lil' character. And regardless of the religious aspect, if you just watch the video and don't take that into account, his message of being strong and not giving up is still a good one.

I can dig it.
Still here.

Sam.

more drumstick drumming, fewer sappy messages.

He's a really strong guy but I always struggle to be "inspired" or whatever by videos like this. Perhaps I'm heartless.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Andail

When the emotional music came I just had to turn it off.
He's a go-ahead person all right, but that thing was a tad too bitter-sweet, too staged for me.

Stupot

I didn't like the way all the schoolkids were queuing up to hug him.  I can't imagine either party was comforatble with that situation.

I kept waiting for him to say something like "Now, can someone please help me get back up"... I honestly didn't see how he was gonna do it  :-[

You know.... I can't decide.

If you look closely he definitely has quite substantial stumps underneth his t-shirt and was using them to lift his body up.  OK they're not full blown arms but they were enough to get the leverage he needed... and notice he spends half the 'getting up' sequence with his back to the crowd (and camera).

Wouldn't this make for an interesting adventure game? Where the puzzles would be simple for a human with a fully functional body but because the character has some disability, the puzzles are hard(er)?
Although it may insult some people which would not be the intention...  :-\

I'd play it.
Not wishing to sound glib or insensitive, but I think the greater the disability of the player character, the more interesting it would be.
i.e. you'd have to set up an elaborate chain reaction just to do relatively simple things.
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

I'm tired of pretending I'm not bitchin', a total frickin' rock star from Mars.

It is called "Videoshopping". By the way, it is also called "Homeshopping" when you pretend that your house is cooler than it really is.
I, object.
