Well, today I thought I'd work a bit on graphics for Goldlagoon, so I took my latest sketch and was ready to scan it on computer, when I got this:

QuoteNo scanners detected.
Please check if CanoScan FB330P/FB630P is connected properly.

Error Code: 0x00070800

Well duh! And this has happened before, but unfortunately I don't remember how I fixed it last time... Now before you go giving me your help, keep in mind that....
- yes, I've checked that the scanner is plugged in.
- yes, I've reinstalled the drivers.
- yes, I've searched internet and manuals for help.
- yes, I've fiddled around with parallel port settings.
- yes, I've restarted the computer.
- yes, I've tried many things.

Also, my printer is plugged in through the scanner, but I think it doesn't have anything to do with parallel port setting, because last time I fixed the problem I fiddled around with some settings... too bad I don't remember what settings those were...

So, help me!

If your scanner has a separate power lead, make sure it is plugged in  (been there, done that ::) )

If your scanner is SCSI, you may need to fiddle around with your SCSI card's BIOS. The same thing was happening on one of my housemates' computer and neither she nor her boyfriend could fix it. It turns out, as well as installing drivers, the scanning device had to be 'set' in the SCSI BIOS as being present.

do you have TWAIN32 drivers installed aswell as the scanner drivers?
also, you shouldn't rule out that it isn't the printer thing until you've actually ruled it out, cos i once had a problem with my microphone not working because i had a midi cable with my synth and joypad connected, as soon as i disconnected the joypad the microphone started working...

Now I found out that the printer isn't working either! Weird, since it was working fine earlier today.

Hmm, I did a small test... The printer is connected to scanner, and scanner is connected to computer. I took the printer cable and connected it straight to computer, and it worked! There might be something wrong with the scanner cable so I have to try some things to see if I've found the problem...

Buy a new scanner cable: when cables start giving problems, it's like a defective floppy: it's better to replace it.

You might want to go and buy yourself a USB scanner. This is what i have and is very reliable.Ã,  Plus USB is faster anyways.
