I saw this game at a Wizards of the coast store near my house. Looked really interesting but is it worth 20 bucks?

Well since nobody answered my question it took me a half a year to finally work up the gusto to buy it..

Heh.. So I was wandering around like a drunk mut last night and I happend to end up outside of a gameshop. Wondering around inside I found ZOMBIES!!! Seeing as I have been wanting to check it out for awhile I just let myself buy it without even thinking about it.

Oddness aside I like it so far. I am on the same boat as jekyll was as in I have noone to play with yet.. However I like the strategy involved in combat. Simple though it puts a spin on the whole 'Roll the dice and pray' idea in some dice based games.

To explain it a bit when you walk in a section with a zombie combat initiates right off that bat (boom) You roll the dice and if you get 4,5 or 6 you win.. Simple as that you punched the suckers head clear off. However if you roll 1,2 or 3 this is where the simple yet effective strategy comes into play..

You have two options.. One being allowing the zombie to take a chunk out of you. You give up one of your life tokens but you get a chance to roll again. Which you try to get a 4 or better if not you are back where you stared. If you run out of life tokens the powers that be send you packin back to the middle of the 'map' where you start over. Kinda MMORPG esque but works non-the-less.

The other option is using your ammo tokens. You start off with 3 ammo tokens and collect more as you wander so if you roll a 2 you can use 2 tokens making your score 4 so boom the zombie is dead.

Like I said it is somewhat simple but I like the idea of being forced into either losing life or using your ammo goes hand in hand with the stuck situation of being in a city filled with zombies.. I guess. I think a steeper curve should be used.. like only 5 and 6 kills the zombie right off because split down the middle seems unbalanced though you can set the rules however you want as well I haven't played a full on game so I dunno.

Anyways, Yeah I tracked this post down after geting the game why not, you know? You got something better to do, eh?

To sum up I still have to play it in a full on game though I like the concept of it so far.

Sorry, Sylph.  That was quite a while ago...  (way back in the day, when I was just a n00b!)

I have the game, and the two expansion packs.  I still haven't found anyone who knows what it is around here, but I've played it by myself, and I play it sometimes with my sister.  (man, she gets sooo pissed whenever she gets a good weapon like a rocket launcher and I use "You Don't Need That" on her.. hee hee...)

I'd still like to make a computer version of this some day... you know, for all of us poor saps who don't have anyone else to play with.
Watch, I just killed this topic...

I used to be really into Warhammer (I was into Warhammer 40k as well, but not as much).  I started playing about 10 years ago and for the first 6 or 7 years it was my main hobby but in the last few years I really haven't had time, in large part due to college.  Two years ago though I did go to Games Workshop's Los Angeles Grand Tournament, which was pretty fun.
