So exit the room to the right and it'll explode!

My detailed strategy guide:

Yes there is a way to predict his attacks. What I do is jump up onto the ledge just below the level he is on. When he pulls his arms in look at his shoulders. If you see little white things then he will shoot the spikes at diagonals. If there are no white things then he will extend his sharp arms. If he shoots the spikes climb up onto the ledge and shoot him after he attacks. If he extends his arms stay hanging and wait until he finished the attack, then climb up and shoot him.

Climb up to the "control room" where there is a door above the crane. Press up to activate a button, then go back to the area with the vent and drop into the room with the console.

Ah. I was playing while I was waiting for you guys to reply and got it on my own. It was just a pixel hunt for the end of the taller crate, that's all.

Beat it in 32 minutes, 15 secs.

i've got a better strategy on beating the boss:

climb up to the ledge that the boss is on, make sure you don't face him. When he wraps his arms around himself and you see white, turn around and shoot him(that attack only goes diagonal). If there is no white, then just press down and you're hanging above the ledge beneath the boss, and you can go back up if you see white(although it's better just to go back up after every sideways attack so that the spikes don't hit you)
