Hello,

I just started playing this amazing game but now I`m hopelessly stuck.

Spoiler
I am about to figure out the puzzle with the capsules. So far I analyzed them, compared them with the menu and the orders and figured out what I think is the right order. The problem is that whenever I try to deliver the orders it`s failing right at the first position. Perhaps the problem is that I have coloured the capsules for my better orientation. I think I`m just on the right track but still doing something wrong. Perhaps somebody can give me just a little nudge so that I can solve the puzzle.

Sorry to bother you with such a question cause no one but me seems to have a problem with that. I searched the Hints and Tips but did not find any thread about that game. I would be pleased if someone could help that foolish me!

Thanks in advance!

It's possible that you have to take extra care with the rotations. When you rotate a set of four orders (or the two at the end), you'll see there are two arrows, one on the top and one on the bottom. In the Japanese version, there are also two arrows, one on the left and one on the right. It might be the other way round - I don't remember - but let's say it's as I have said it.

When you rotate by clicking on, say, the top arrow, if you click on the left part of the arrow, you'll see that you rotate the Japanese version one way. If you click on the right part of the arrow, the Japanese version rotates the other way.

So if you click on the wrong part of the arrow, while the orders move correctly, the coloured balls will move the wrong way in the Japanese version and things will mess up there.

The same applies when choosing colours - the stripes in the colour menu are horizontal in one version and vertical in the other. To get the colours the same in both games, you need to click on the part of the stripe that gives the same colour in the other version.

Now, it might be that this has nothing to do with it, but this was one of the things I took care with when playing the game.

Some tips on getting it to work:

Set the colours, as you are doing.

Work it all out on paper. Write down who wants what, and check carefully the orders that are imprecise (Chewbacca's, HAL's).

Check that the total nutrition of all the orders adds up to what it should be.

As there is no switch to change the leftmost two orders around, start by getting them in the right order. Then work left to right, getting the next pair of orders correct, then the next, and finally the last two on the right.

After doing the rotations, ask for everyone's order again and check they have the right order. (Kind of obvious, but it's easy to overlook this by the time you get to this stage and just hope you've got it right.)

There's also one item on the menu that only one person has - I think it might be one of the people who doesn't give a complete order.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. That did the trick. If I should need further help I`ll post again.

Storygamer

So I've just beat this game the first time through and unlocked the English subtitles.  I want to get the complete ending by solving both stories simultaneously, but I'm having trouble with the Japanese story.

Spoiler
Here's what I've figured out:

Red = Tsushima or Sado
Orange = Yamato
Yellow(might be green, I am partially color-blind) = anyone but Yamato and Tsukushi
Green = Tsukushi
Light blue-green = Awazi, Iyo, or Ogi
Bright blue = same options as yellow
Dark blue = Awazi or Iyo
Purple = Ogi or Tsushima

From the clues given in the game, I can't figure out any more than this and it's driving me crazy!  Anyone want to share a clue or two?

Sure, here are some hints...

Spoiler

Once you unlocked the english subtitles, then you have to play a new game meaning the alien version will need to be re-solved again. If you complete both the alien and japanese stories at the same time you get the special ending with the unlock code.

You should know who Yamoto is (orange) and the eldest which is awazi (yellow) from the clues and the scroll (japanese goes from right to left), then it's a process of elimination for the rest using the clues.

In my game it was:
Red=Sado, Orange=Yamoto, Yellow=Awazi, Green=Tsukushi, Turqoise=Ogi, Blue=Iki, Mauve=Iyo, Purple=Tsushimi

Then you have to figure out the story in order and then mark that orb with the appropriate color to match each story part to the name from eldest to youngest.

Spoiler

1. In the beginning...  (awazi)
2. First izanami...
3. Soon after...
4. Find her, journey to yomi...
5. Once there...
6. Flesh rotten...
7. Trapped her...
8. Pleaded to husband... (yamoto)

Spoiler

Once you know which orb goes on which stone in the japanese story, you have to do the same with the alien story (again).
It is a matter of putting the colours in both stories in the same places.

Spoiler

Start from left to right
Note that one of the turning buttons is different in each story so you can turn orbs in the alien version without touching the ones in the japanese version.

There, that should help you finish this great puzzle game.
