Must be missing the very obvious. I have
Spoiler
a bag, a bag with rodent and a bag with ink bomb. A water bottle and a nail file
but I can't progress. Talked to everyone about everything, used all objects on all hotspots but there's nothing left to do. What is it I don't see?
Spoiler
Use the ink bomb with the guy in the tower (Stanley?). I think you might have to exhaust all Stanley's conversation topics first.
I did. And then I get the message: I'd rather not ruin my chances... What more is there to find out? Are there things I should not talk about?
I already know that
Spoiler
he left in a red aircraft. But Stanley isn't authorized to talk about it.
Nevermind. There's one topic that slightly changes and needs to be exhausted. Thanks for the nudge...
Spoiler
You have to be really really really nice and repetitive in the dialog.
Indeed. But after that? It seems my brain still isn't as it used to be... I can't find the hole in the fence.
I found it at once- just near the dog.
Not only brain dead, blind as well... is it marked with another name or still named fence..?
I think it was still named fence. Seems like one time I was succesful with pixel hunting.
Right, that solves this non-pixel hunt. It was still named fence so how on earth could you tell where to go? Of all places, I wouldn't try it next to a guard dog... :-\
Agreed, it's not a pixel hunt, it's more like a blind shot. If you happen to right-click the correct area, you're done. If not, you might not even realize there's something to click at. I had problems with that one too.
C'mon abstauber, rename this goddamn hotspot somehow! ;)
I've been playing for an hour (no kidding), and I cannot get past the arcade sequence.
Spoiler
I mean, give me a break, I haven't seen this much cheap-ass action crap since the early days of 8-bit nintendo games. I've been playing games all my life and this is really tough. Way too many enemies and projectiles!
Why the hell does she scream "OUCH" and the game pauses whenever she gets hit? What is up with that? Why does the plan suddenly transport back to the bottom center of the screen after it gets hit? Why isn't the plane invincible for a few seconds after it gets damaged, like in almost all arcade-style games?
These elements make the sequence pretty difficult and frustrating. Can we just skip past this garbage please? I mean, I play adventure games to get away from this action crap.

The shooting part isn't perfect, probably due to the quick development time. I suspect most of the issues are due to the original code being designed for a 1-hit death style of game. However it's pretty easy by all standards providing you kill things quick enough. If not......there's a difficultly slider in the options to tone it down for the 10 thumbed folks.

Argh, that is not possible in AGS :( And after I realised, that you can't rename hotspots, it was alread too late to switch over to objects.
Spoiler
That's why Stanley tells you, he placed the dog in front of the broken part. But yes, it's still awkward.
@David Hallowitz
;D Sorry that I gave you such a hard time. You may have noticed, that the projectiles are also being removed after you get hit. Doing some kind of shield has been planned, but I couldn't implement it until deadline. But there still is the easy mode. Which makes it a lot easier... trust me. Just make sure, you have 1.02 installed for the extra easieness ;)
@Victor
Exactly :D
I gave the rodent to rufus, but in spite of that i can´t walk behind the fence. ??

I just had the same problem. Simply right-click the fence.

Thanks. After finding your notes, I found the difficulty setting and switched it to easy, then beat the stage very quickly. Thanks a bunch.
@mr.matti
right klick on thefence also doesn´t work *snief
@Ewianes
in rare cases you can't get past Rufus, no matter what you do.
I've uploaded a new version, in which that bug has been removed.
Sorry about this bug and the waste of time it has caused you (and possibly others). Anyway version 1.1 also has a much more polished arcade part, so if you have the time and bandwidth, please re-download the 15 MB. (pretty please ;) )

@dirk

You can make an invisible object or character appear over a hotspot to get the desired result. This hotspot problem is hard to tolerate in an otherwise excellent game.
You have noticed, that this problem has long been fixed, right? :)
But yes, I'll try to stay away from it in the future.

Not in the version that I had. But I don't remember when and where from did I download it.
EDIT: It's V 1.1. So the fix apparently doesn't work.
Huh? Maybe there's a misunderstanding... I've just checked it too:
Spoiler
After talking to Stanley, the correct part of the fence is named "Broken Fence" in the hotspot finder. But you have to talk to him first - but otherwise you wouldn't search for a broken element anyway.
Or did I get you wrong?
Quote...in an otherwise excellent game.
Yay, Highscore please :D
Hmm... Either the new hotspot didn't appear in my case, or it was so tiny I didn't notice it. I kept trying to use the file on the fence everywhere near the dog like ten times before it actually worked. And I kept trying only because I read about this in the solution.
EDIT: I started the game again, and the hotspot does indeed change, but this can pretty much be only found out by accident. I don't see any hints at changing hotspots in what Stanley says and I still think this specific puzzle is rather weak.
Okay, I see that this kind of puzzle is giving you all the creeps 8)
Stubborn as I am, I still think that these hints in the dialog are almost a walkthrough itself.

So I cut the fence open and let Baron Borisov and his men pass.

And after that incident, I have fixed the fence
PLUS placed the base's dog in front of it.
But of course, I made the puzzle so it has to be clear for me :) As said, I hope to make better dialog based puzzles in the future.
