The game has been rather simple so far, but now I've managed to run into a frustrating point:

Immediately after leaving the mousehole, how do you get out of the alley without being eaten by that stupid bird?!
The only walkthrough site I've seen pointed to is currently down, and I don't see any other topics on this particular subject. I apologize if I've missed one.
Never played this game all the way through because I couldn't get past the arcade game, anyway I had a walkthrough so I had a look at it for you

it says, eat cherry pie as soon as you emerge or risk getting eaten by a giant bird

Are you sure you can't go back to where you gave the lady the dog and get the cherry pie?
Can't go anywhere on that save, without getting eaten. Heh.
