Apprentice Deluxe

I've just begun to play Apprentice Deluxe, and I've encountered two annoying things. One, after taking a short break and restarting the game the intro plays all over again, and there's no way to skip over it. I've heard it once and I don't want to hear it again. Two, I have no idea how to get the highway woman to give me her cucumbers, and not the slightest clue where the oregano powder and cheese are. Anybody?

If you hit the ESC key, it'll skip the intro.

First you need to find a way to get into the closet in the tower. Try knocking on the master's door and then hiding in the stairwell. Then go to your room and go down the laundry chute, while the master is in the kitchen.
