I am stuck, pretty much at the beginning.  I die if I stay too long by the guys smoking, the guy behind the counter won't help me until I get him some things, but I can't seem to get the things he needs. any nudge would be appreciated. thanks.

OK that's helpful. Funny that did not come up with the search engines I was trying. Anyhow, thanks for the link. I'll try not to cheat too much now.
