Could anybody give me some help with the door panel in Into the Light? Also, what is it that you have to do with the toolbox?

Spoiler

Have you tried just pushing buttons and seeing what happens?

Spoiler
You need to enter a three-number code, then press the ENTER button (the rectangle on the left).

Spoiler
How do you know what code to use?  Well, try some and see what happens.

Spoiler
Most of the time you just get a buzz.  But sometimes the buzz is followed by one or two blips.
[close]

Spoiler
These blips mean that one or two of the numbers you entered were correct.  By some trial and error, you can figure out the correct code this way.

Spoiler
I can't just tell you the code, because I think it changes every game, but here's what I think is the easiest way to find it: Try all possible codes in which the three numbers are the same: 111, 222, 333, etc.  The three numbers that give blips are the three numbers in the correct code.  For example, if you get blips on 333, 888, and 000, then the three numbers in the code are 3, 8, and 0; just try those in all different orders (380, 308, 830, 803, 038, 083).  It could be that one of the numbers gives two blips; in that case, it's even easier, since there are fewer combinations to try.  For example, if you get two blips on 333 and one on 888, the combination is either 833, 383, or 338.

Spoiler

Open it.

Spoiler
Oh, right, right, how.  Well, open the lock...
[close]

Spoiler
Again, pay attention to sounds...
[close]

Spoiler
When you turn the dial, sometimes there is a click...and sometimes there's a crunching sound.
[close]

Spoiler
That crunch means you've either turned the dial all the way around, or you've turned it to the next number in the combination.
[close]

Spoiler
So, again, turning it and listening for the crunches, you should be able to open it...how does a combination lock usually have to be turned?
[close]

Spoiler
After resetting the dial (if necessary), turn the dial to the right until you hear a crunch.  Then left until you hear a crunch.  Then left again until you hear another crunch.  Then right until you hear a crunch, and then click on the down arrow to try the lock.  The lock should open.

Thanks, that helped. But, er, how do I get to turn the dial?

Oh!  Sorry.  I assumed you'd tried this:

Spoiler
Use the ACTION cursor on the toolbox.  (That is, go to your inventory, choose ACTION from the top menu bar, and click on the toolbox.)  A close-up of the toolbox will come up with icons at the bottom allowing you to turn the dial left and right, spin the dial to reset it, or pull the lock to try and open it.

[Edited to add spoiler tags.  I don't think what I wrote really contains any spoilers, but I figured it was better to err on the side of caution.]

I've managed to get the wires and fix the sander...but now I'm totally stuck. I can't use it on anything. None of the items in my inventory can be used to do anything now. I can't break the window. I can't do anything with the heating vent or the pipe. I can't take the pot plant...what am I supposed to do now????

Anonymus

Alright, so first smell the plant, then use the can on the window until you find an special place, then use the hamer on the pipe.Wather+Flour+glue and a knife wil be god to break the window if is glued.Nw you must only heat the glue.Use it with the vent. Now you know wath to do.
