I've whacked Officer McGee, freed the girl from the cell, decoded the second witches code message, and now I don't know what to do.

If you haven't already, you need to talk to Percy. If you already have - go back and talk to him again. The first time, he finds you (I think at the Hotel, or maybe the jail), the second time he's in his room.

I got percy's shevel and obviously it should be to dig but I'm not sure where.

When at ending you read Ben was not sure why he was choosen to be sacrifice, that question maybe answer in next game I believe.

I have completed this game with the "short path" ending and I am now playing the long path ending.  However,  I am truly stuck in the dark screen after Ben runs from the sacrifice screen.  Is there a hot-spot I am not finding or some interaction that I need to do?

Zortherus fled the previous scene at the same time Ben did....  is he in the dark scene(entrance to dark forest)  with Ben?    I can't see anything nor can I exit

There are two endings to this game depending on what you do when you meet the constable.

If you allow you the constable to shoot you,  you are taken to the dark closet under the stairs and you figure out how to get out......  if you act the right time and hit the constable with the "bloody tool" that is in your inventory, then it take you on this ending that I am working on. This is where I am stuck.... after Ben breaks loose from the sacrifice scene
