I'm stuck trying to find how to open the locked door on the top floor. Have got to the stage where Alice and Otto are researching how to cast out the spirit. Need help please.

You need to contact the professor on your phone first. After that, go to your room and he will call you back with some information. You should be able to proceed with the clue he gives you.
I'm stuck after being told to call everybody for the meeting. I called everybody i could but there is only that spooky woman in the Travel Room. Any hints what should I do to 'push' the action a little bit?

So funny that we are all looking for Joyce. I emailed her and she will try to find some time to come online tonite. She was busy at the moment. WE ALL Need JOYCE.....Percy is the man who gave you that piece of paper you have in your inventory with the phone number on it to ring him up if you need him. After you find the trapdoor, call him. Then I am stuck.

Lord my mind has gone a complete blank, did you talk to lady in travel room? I can't for the life of me remember how they all ended up in the travel room. I'm stuck at the end of it, have left a msg on completed games forum, maybe you should do that too. I just know I had to keep talking to everybody and phoning everybody again. I do remember you get the key to trapdoor in Alices toilet after you fix it. I'm not much help am I, brain is dead right now.[/spoiler]

How embarassing.... I never called Percy. That was the thing holding me back from going forward. I had only called Miggs. DUH....So now I am on the game again.
Ok, I keep seeing things on this post saying I need to contact Percy... And I even went through the intro and handbook again trying to find his number. Yes, I feel like an idiot for not being able to find it already (especially since no one else has even had to ask about it) but can anyone please tell me what his number is? (I know the bookstore owner's # but that doesn't seem to help me right now. for the seance you needed 3 things. You must have given Tilly the blood and the lit candle but did you give her a personal item (ring) I just loaded a saved game and when I gave her 3 items the seance started, they were all sitting around table and each of them presented her with a personal item and my curser changed to a ring which I had to give her again.

You did call Percy to go get your ring from your house didn't you? I gave her my blood in jar, and the lit candle when she was in the travel room, but gave her my ring when I was in the seance room. Look again in your inventory to make sure you gave her everything. Sorry, that is all I can think about because if you are in the seance room with everyone, it should start if she has all your stuff.

Ok, ive not read through the other posts in here as ill very probably read something that i haven't gotton to yet, and that'll just spoil things, so; I'm trying to find a key so that i can get in the padlocked door. I've used my phone and found out that it'll be in either the lobby, stairwell or storeroom. Ive found the scissors and found that there is a book thats stuck in the bookshelf in the lobby. But where is the key ? Just a small hint thanks.......

There is definitely a book in the lobby, try under the romance ones at the left, not the one that is stuck, I think you use the scissors to get the key out of the book

I realized my mistake after reading your answers:
Even if I gave her my ring in the Travel Room, it's like it did not count.Ã, So I gave it back at the seance and the show went on

the seance is over. I keep walking around in circles and nothing new is happening. I called Miggs and there is no answer and Percy has nothing to tell me.Ã, Nobody in Travel Room.Ã, Otto and Alice are working in Otto's room and they have nothing to tell me, Mrs. Tilly is in a coma. The English guy (forgot his name) has dissappeared. I go upstairs to door of Horror Room and nothing can be done. I went back to basement and nothing else in there neither.
I just can't think of anything else to do.Ã, My mind is blank.
Would really appreciate some help. :'(
If I remember correctly, go to your own room, and Percy will call your cell and give you information to look into. The clue would be in your own room.

I finished the game with 107.
My mistake was to use the pipe on the door thinking I was using it on the padlock. We have to pay attention to the description at the bottom of the screen.

To find the key:

Look on the shelf containing harlequin romances (on the left, 2nd or 3rd shelf from the top) One book which catches your eye will be "keys to her heart" Hmmm
Use the hand icon on this shelf, and you'll get this "book" which is really a box in your inventory, but it is locked.
Do you have something pointed to pick the lock?
The Scissors from the storage room should do.

I don't know if you are still stuck in those rooms but here is what I did.

enter 1st room, walk out.Ã, Enter 2nd door and walk out.Ã, Enter 3rd door and walk out.Ã, Do this 2 times plus enter 1st and 2nd doors a third time and you will end up in front of your room (79 points) Talk to Alice.

I know you guys have said how to get the key a zillion times, but i still cant get it. ive tried clickin on the harlequin romance books and every other book on the shelf with the eye and the hand, and the "key to my heart" thing doesnt come up. HELP!

How far are you in the game? I got the key when I had 9 points only. So you really get the box/book in the Harlequin section at the beginning of the game. After that you open the box with scissors which are in your inventory and you then have 15 points.
By the way, do you have the scissors? Because you get those before being able to get the key. Maybe that is your problem ???
talk to all the guys first then phone miggs about books that where i went wrong then u should be able to get book called key to your heart

I've been stuck there, too. I looked through all books and did not find the right one. If I recall correct, I called Miggs. After this I was able to see the book. ??? As said, if I recall correct.
I finished the Game in 3 hours, consulting the hints here 3 times. A few times I got stuck, because I handled the mouse wrong, ie klicked the wrong item/place or (even worse) did not think to combine the correct items.

Maybe it sounds pretty stupid but I'm not very far and still in trouble. (I'll post nevertheless because usually I find the solution right after posting my problem ;) )
All I have so far is the cell phone, the note with MR Miggs number and the scissors. There's nothing else to say to Otto or Simon the same for the Professor and Mr Miggs.
All the others' rooms are closed. I don't see anything to do in the bathroom, the store room or the travel room ...
I've been wandering through the house for hours ... What now?Ã, Ã, ???

Why don't you rest..?
This is a big mistake in the puzzle design, since there are no hints and nothing, you just need to get lucky or start clicking everywhere until you find it...

I think this was a misunderstanding, I was not at a point where I had to rest (I even tried this). I didn't have the key yet.
But as I expected I found the solution a few minutes later ... meanwhile I've had the key and now I'm just past the Simon-shower point. ;)

Hi, I started reading through this whole thread looking for the solution to my stuckyness, but then read things that I didn't want to know yet. Which is kinda annoying.
So, could anyone help me? I'm just about to start the seance. I have the blood, and the candle, and have given these to Madame Tilley. I need a personal item now. I remember talking to Alice about important things, and Ben said he has a ring.

I have already answered that question on a previous page:

When you call Miggs, you must use 02074284800. Ã, If you use 02044690976, it will not work. Ã, If you use 02074284800, you can get the book in the lobby, otherwise you will not be able to get the book with the key in it.

Ok, ive not read through the other posts in here as ill very probably read something that i haven't gotton to yet, and that'll just spoil things, so; I'm trying to find a key so that i can get in the padlocked door. I loaded the game to see what you meant when you said the paper says Percy not Miggs.

The paper with Miggs number is the paper you find in your nightstand, it will be in your inventory after you look in your nightstand.
