Ben Jordan - Moving between scenes?

A very simple question from a newbie player...

My first game is Ben Jordan - Case 1. In the first scene, I have spoken to the old ranger and searched the body. How do I move on to the next scene? Ben seems to only walk to the very edge of the scene and that's it. Is there something I should be doing? Could it be a screen resolution problem? I am playing it on a widescreen laptop...

It's not the resolution...

Open your inventory and select the brochure. Use it on yourself to see the map and go to the Ranger Station.
