I have tool, paper, badge and gun. Know that the phone booth guy is scared of monsters, that the woman's bird is dead. Have moved the paint close enough. Maybe I need the monster poster or need to paint a bird yellow and I can't get those cigarettes.

When she's standig at the door (before you haven given her the chocolate) you can choose to give her the sweets or to drop the statue.
In case that you are friendly to her just lure the nurse to the lower left corner of the room, then hurry to the elevator and push the button to flee.

What determines the different endings. And how old is this game? I didn't see it in completed game announcements.
I think this game was great. Maybe some of the graphics were perhaps not top notch, but the story was very engaging (and very clever with a dead partner), the layout great, the puzzles well done and the dialogue smart and funny. In fact, absolutely hilarious at times. I laughed out loud a lot! This game was one of the best and most fun AGS games I've played. Easily one of the funniest too.
Got really stuck.......need to use phone box but no money, can't get cigarettes or toolbox either. Only hotspots I can get to are hosptal, carpark, clairvoyant, and burnt warehouse, please a gentle hint

I made this game in 2006 (as to be seen in the version history-file).
It's my first (and I'm afraid my last) AGS-game.
I've absolutely no talents with graphics, and after I've wasted one entire year with people who wanted to to design (but never really did), I decided to present it now as alpha without any announcement instead of waiting another year.
Maybe I got some artist interested in the game this way ;)

Thera a several parts in the game where you have more than one option to continue.
As mentioned some posts before you may choose to hurt the nurse again or to bribe her with candy (in basement).
The decision you take at this point will even change some parts of the further game.
The decisions you take at each of these points are summed up at the end und you get the ending that fits to your "playing profile".

I got two endings so far and am playing again. I should say that after reading your Read Me file I realized that your game came set at the lowest resolution so I changed it and the graphics are a night and day difference. I raised the resolution and the graphics are way more sharp, colorful and are actually well done. Looking now, the lower resolution made the graphics look dullish and dark. So I must withdraw what i said about the graphics. I am only sorry I didn't play this game the first time with the higher resolution. Again, this game is great and the dialogue absolutely hilarious. I don't know if I've ever played a game with funnier or wittier dialogue. And you should definitely make another game. I'm sure it's hard to do, but we need more games like this.
By the way, there's a website called Nordinho.net where you can post this game in the downloads forum. Please do so as more people should have a chance to play this.

Look at the boxes in the first room to find out the your partner has been mixed up with another guy and take his gun and his badge.
Read his file too and try to get the message out of the shredder.

It has to do with the handcuffs which seems to represent letters and even a heart. So all the endings are represented by the handcuffs or the "S" represents that there's six endings or both of these. Something like this. :P

After your partner gets shot, why not take a look at where the shooter was using the look icon.

by just flashing your badge at them and by threatening or shooting anyone or anything that gets in your way.
But if the game followed that principle, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting, of course. :)

I am in the hospital. In my inventory I have the vase, the multitool (I got it after I put the sedative pill into the guard's minties), the ketchup, the candy and a glass with MY pills. I went to the elevator to give the pills to the old man, but the detective says that that will kill him. Someone in the forum mentioned something about placebo. How/where do I get/make that? Also, I can't open the safe which is in the nurse's office. How did you get the code? Do you find the code at the part where I am or do I come back later?

I gave the proof to the Commissioner but there is nothing else I can do. He keeps telling me to come back when the policemen are gone, but they are still at Maloy's place. In my inventory I have Jake's badge and gun, a screwdriver that I have no idea where to use and a wire cutter. I can't get the cigarettes from the old man and I don't know where to use Emma's red marker - which I can't take with me anyway.

That's not quite right - remember you're suspended, your bagde and gun have been taken and you are officially "grounded" in the hospital.

Take a look downstairs. The object that fell out of the cabinet and hit a box.
Take it and use it with tho sock to make a "sock on a pole" - after the dog recognizes the smell it will leave you allone.

Ive just done the first part of the hospital got the key to the basement ive searched the boxes and got the gun badge and read the names on the boxes. Other solutions say theres a filing cabinet where is this? it seems like there is only 1 room? ive clicked all the way round to find another but i seem to be confined to 1 room can anyone help please?

I'm over the fence but can't get into the house. When I click on the grating it says "I'm not going into this house without Jake." I don't think I'm meant to dig him out of the morgue because I won't go back into the hospital. Do what TZ said. Call Janson--you get his number the way you got his address. Say it's Maloy. Ask him about the secret. Then go to Emma's, ask her about that, if she witnessed something. She will give you information. Then go to Janson's and confront him about a conspiracy, that he sold stuff he shouldn't have. Then tell him you have a witness. Leave that screen and you can then go to Maloy's or call the police commissioner. It's your choice.

I've just gotten Maloy's address, but the game won't let me go there. I've gone back to Emma's place, the hospital, Madam Lala's and everywhere else, but nothing seems to have changed. I have no idea where to go next, and nothing seems to be unlocking for me to move forward.
My current inventory is Jake's gun and badge, and the note from the morgue. That's really about it.

That's exactly the trouble. I can't find Janson's number. Entering Janson and Dr. Janson into Directory Assistance gets me nothing at all, so tricking him is impossible. I haven't been able to find anything on all six pages of this topic, so clearly I'm missing something that's obvious to everyone else.

have u read the note from the station? If you have and also talked to man about getting him medication I don't know. Do you have the guard's tool? maybe you u need that. Else maybe TZ will know.

I just replayed it and had no problem. When the man talked to me I first answered "sorry?" then "What's your medication" or something close to that--the third possibility I think it is. Then I could use the safe.

Go to the nurses door and use the look icon on the security lock. That should help you realize what you need to do.

Maybe you have a bug. All I can say is this: I left the room, tried to go to the elevator, the man stopped me, I responded "sorry?" then "What kind of medication." Then I opened the nurse door, used the finger on the safe and was able to open it, so I can't figure your problem. Message TZ, the author, or wait for him to respond here.

Go left all the way on the 2nd floor and that door should open. You may need force to open it, or you can always try something you found in the house that requires no force.

You need to call the doctor (get his number through directory assistance) and trick him by telling him your someone else, someone he knows. Then you need to talk to the nurse.

You can't take the marker and you can only use the window if you knocked the nurse out in the basement of the hospital instead of giving her chocolate.

You should have a cable wire with nodes that you can use on the fence. If you don't have that, go back to the crime scene/warehouse and get it from the toolbox.
Just completed the game, and got two endings. But I'm stuck replaying the beggining, I'm in the basement without buying the chocolate and I cannot get past the nurse. Any help?

The corner shelf area, near the entrance to other room, is loose. Check to see with the look icon. Then you can loosen it more and more. This will change one part of the game with some pretty funny lines, but I don't think it matters to the endings. I believe there are three choices in the game, which with the mix of them, create the different endings. One is at the warehouse, another is after you get the doctor to confess, and the third is at the very end.
In fact there are 4 situations in the game where the ending is decided ;)

at the judges house. I'm finished with the bush and the wire, I think, but can't figure out what to do next. How can I get in? The fence is still energized, and I can't get in by using the phone in front of the house.

in morgue you get jakes stuff, but you also need to look and touch another bin which has the name Wattson. Then go in other room. look at file cabinet, use file cabinet, then type in Wattson. Then you can go back to room with bins and proceed.

Jakes stuff may be in Wattson's bin, but point is you have to know his stuff is a a bin named Wattson.

In first part of morgue look at and touch two bins, jake's and Wattson's. Then get paper with multi-tool in other room. Then look at and use file cabinet and type in Wattson. (You may need to look at the paper you picked up which is in your inventory.) Then go back to the first room and the nurse should be there.
I'm stuck - I'm in hospital room and have knocked out the nurse with vase. I have fruit in bowl, flowers in vase and nurses clothes (that say something is missing). What do I do now? Nothing I try seems to work.

Once you use coins on the booth you don't need to again. At booth, you need to call Barney to get the nurse's/Emma's address. You do this by saying to Barney that your Janson. You'll also eventually need to talk to Janson. Use directory assistance to get his number. Call him and say it's Maloy, if I remember right, and get him to tell you about secret information.

And when I dial Janson's number it says , I'm guessing. I'll try again.

I think I've screwed something up. lol
I remember playing one time and getting that "guessing" message though I forget what I did to get that. But if you follow what I wrote things should work.

Realized you're getting "stop guessing" because your not entering things properly. When you select "Directory Assistance" from the menu and type in a name you get the address and phone number. Then the box to type something in is still there. However, that box is still for "Directory Assistance" only and not to make a call to a person. So you need to get out of "Directory Assistance" to go back to the original phone booth menu, then put your cursor in the box to highlight it and type in the number you want to call.
I'm headed to the telephone booth..Hope it works.

I tried browsing through the newspapers and I found an article on medication. I'm not able to give it to the old man outside the hospital. He keeps telling me that his medicines are red, and rejects the article. How do I get the cigarettes? I don't know what to do outside the judges house. I have looked at everything. I also have the tools from the kit.

I've talked to the old man near the hospital, and I've scared the guy out of the phone booth. In my inventory there's the gun, the badge, and the paper about the order Janson gave to Ryan Maloy. I want to use the phone but Spence keeps saying "I have no credit". Where do you find credit? I already used Jake on every item I could think of ??? a little hint please?

I figured out my first question...so Ill edit it to ask my 2nd. I have found 3 new places to go, (maloy, janson, and nurse), I cannot get the guy to confess and I can't do anything at the nurse's, and I can't enter maloy's place at all. Also, you all talk about judge's house and I don't see that yet. Thanks. I have gun, badge, note, screwdriver, wire cutters. And I chose to knock the nurse out in the basement.

I think you need to call the doctor (Janson I think) and tell him it's Maloy. (or vice versa) This will get info you need, Then go to nurse's and use this info and she will give you more info. Then head to the doctor's and you will have the info/dialogue you need to make him confess.
Hope this is correct. If not, I remember your question being asked before in this thread so you could always look for it, or wait until someone who knows posts.

I'm in the elevator, having just spoken to Jake through the badge. The badge was (kind of) added to my icon bar. If I select the hand icon, the badge icon disappears. I have to select another icon before it does appear. Also, if I have the hand icon selected, the badge (action) icon does not show up in my inventory. Right-clicking does not cycle through the different actions.
The problem is that I seem to be unable to interact with anything. None of the actions (I've tried looking at and touching everything in the elevator) have any effect at all; no text appears. I can still interact with inventory objects (I can even use the new Jake badge ability on them) but that doesn't seem to do me any good.
Will I have to restart? Does anyone happen to have a save file right after running from the nurse (not knocking her out again)?

HELP!! I am so stuck and I can't find the hint I need. I've given my evidence to the commish. and his men are inside the Maloy house. I have wire cutters, screwdriver, a wire thingy (sorry forget what its called). I don't know what to do next to move forward. I've talked to Jansen, Emma, the commish and now I'm stumped as to what to do next. Suggestions?

Well it took me 3 days and I had to have some hints to get to ending 2/6. I'm going to try to get all six endings. This is a really good game well thought out. It is a well made game I hope you find a artist to help you so you will make another. But I feel your frustration with help promised but not delivered. I was nice to the nurce. I have the gun, wallet, Maloys letter , wire cutter, screwdriver, cable. I have also Jansons number and Maloys adress. To get Maloys number I have to call Janson (in the hints & tips). Wenn I dial Jansons number (24976) however, I get the message "Dialed the wrong number, sorry." Did I miss something? Can someone help me, please?
