Pleurghburg trouble

I am stuck in Pleurghburg: Dark Ages. I am currently under the crash site (inside the sewers). I need to get through the steel door. I even consulted a walkthrough. I did as it said. I interacted with the pipes, but I still can't get the acid to put in the pickle bottle. If you know the answer, please help me?

Well I have played this like dark ages ago 

I think you needed to mess with the valves and not the pipes...

That will turn the acid drops back on...
