I'm stuck near the end of the game (I think!)

Have blown the safe and the cigar has gone into the mousehole, however I can't find any way to get it out again.

Any help gratefully received!

I am stuck more towards the beginning

I've tried everything for the pin number on the credit card. All of the history dates, and then when I entered the Roswell date the machine ate the credit card. What am I missing?

Also, besides the credit card dilemma I am completely stuck. The nerd won't talk to me and the only places I've found to explore are the office, library, and police station. It won't let me go anywhere else.

If I owned a wallet and it was already in my inventory (pocket), why it only appeared after I collected the cash? I think a pile of bills and dimes would've been more accurate.

You should have a newspaper in your inventory. Who have we met so far that likes to read? Perhaps they would trade something in return for the newspaper

Actual Solution

Give your newspaper to the rude guy in the library. He will give you a pencil in return. Use the pencil to trace over the faded letters in the Mayan book. Ask the nerd to help you, but he says he is too busy. Leave the book on his pile of school work and watch the small cutscene. Try to take it back and he won't let you. Talk to him again. A page of notes should fall to the ground. Take it and read it. You should be able to move on to part two. Walk outside and find the bus that will drive you to the airport
