Title: Der verschwundene Husky
Post by: TassieDevil on Sun 18/12/2005 21:55:12
After I have been talking to the yeti, the only thing I can do is walk. There are no other action icons available, neither is the inventory - and I can't leave the room?

Is this a bug or what I am supposed to do ???

This is most likely a bug (but i dont know why it happens yet), try entering the lab again and talk to the yeti again, too.

There is a scale in front of the door which only weighs if the red field is activated.
You can outsmart the scale by using the stones.
Perhaps you can solve the puzzle yourself now, otherwise i'll give another hint.

Thank you, but please give me another hint. I'm stuck.

Move Kinuk and all the stones to the right corner so that the red field disappears, then take one of the stones and place it on the inactivated scale. After this, move Kinuk back on the scale and take the stone away again.
You now should know how to solve the puzzle ;).

Hmm, I tried it several times. Changing the environment inbetween. No luck, giving up :(

I'm very sorry, I searched for a failure in the code but only found an old and useless "SetCursorMode" command which i removed, so maybe it now works ??? . It would be a great pity if something like that would causes you to stop playing. The new version will be online at 22.45 pm so if you liked the game till then maybe you give it a second chance :).
bye, Floyd

hi beeblebrox,
take a look at the cupboard in the right corner, there are four drawers.

Thanks Floyd - guess i've checked the cupboard about 10 times before - but did't find the hotspot ...

Anyway, stuck again ... same as "Silke" before, the stones-problem .... Even with your hints I've still no idea how to pass. There are 7 stones and kinuk (who's got the same weight as 7 stones). 1 stone into the zone = scale +1. kinuk into zone (=7 stones) = scale +8. takin stone away (-1) = scale +7. The "weight" of kinuk .... Am I completely missing the point ?  ???  ???  ???

thx und/oder danke  ;)

You have to make sure the scale is not activated (= no red light) when you place the stone in front of the door.

Even when I place a stone in front of the door, the sensor field will still be activated by Kinuk's weight. He still on that field keeping the door closed after the whole stone thing.

Is the red area the scale you mentioned?
Do you need all seven stones?

1. Yes.
2. Yes.  ;)

The order is very important:
Quote from: Floyd
1. Move Kinuk and all the stones to the right corner so that the red field disappears, 2. then take one of the stones and place it on the inactivated scale. 3. After this, move Kinuk back on the scale and 4. take the stone away again.
edit: Note: This is not the solution.
To solve the puzzle, you have to place all 7 stones on the inactivated scale in "2." instead of only one.

I think I've tried all possible combinations with the stones, still stuck. I'm definitely too confused to get through this ...

Could you tell me what exactly you are doing and what is then happening on the screen?
What happens when Kinuk and all the stones are next to the knoll (i hope that's the correct word ;))? Do you still see the red light?
I also tried to draw what you have to do :):

I make sure the whole thing is empty, then move the 7 stones there, each activates a red square in the meter, then I move Kinuk to the left which makes the final three squares in the meter red. Nothing changes when I remove stones, until I move the last 3 of them. When I'm done moving the stones back, Kinuk is still keeping 7 of the ten squares red.

Sorry, the game is currently only available in german.

This is not my solution, your initial situation differs from mine.
As I already said, you have to make sure there is no red light anymore before starting to move the stones.
You really should have a look at my hints and my drawing once again...

thx floyd, that's the golden hint - i've got it .... i always supposed the red field and the red leds had absolutely the same function ....  :o looking forward to the next trap  ;)

Yes, that was pretty much what I was doing. There is no red lights before I do anything, I would like to have Kinuk pass the red field before removing the stones, but I can't have Kinuk right in front of the door without touching the red field and activating the lights.

Quotebut I can't have Kinuk right in front of the door without touching the red field and activating the lights.
You don't have to have him there without having activated the light anyway.
If you've done everything correct, there should be 7 squares in the meter when Kinuk and the stones are in front of the door (part 3 of my picture).

Is there some specific place to move Kinuk to? As soon as he hits the red area with the 7 stones, I get 10 squares which won't come down until I move something away.

QuoteAs soon as he hits the red area with the 7 stones, I get 10 squares
The first thing you have to do after deactivating the red light (by moving everything in the right corner) is placing all the stones in front of the door. Because of the scale being disabled (=no red light), you shouldn't see a square in the meter despite the fact the stones are lying on the scale.
Only now you walk in front of the door with Kinuk and only now the red light flashes.

Finally, got through the door, I just had to move everything further right, but now Kinuk goes through the door when I pick up the last rock and in the next room, I can't let it go anymore, or choose any other option for that matter. In other words, by mouse is stuck in the "I've got a rock"-mode.

Any ideas on how to fix that?

I don't think there's a way to fix this so I uploaded a savegame for you to continue:
http://timobecker-online.de/husky/agssave.001
I also inserted a "SetCursorMode" command in "First Time Player Enters Screen" to eliminate the bug.
Sorry about these vexations.
