Many questions- Night of the Hermit

I've got literally 6 questions about Night of the Hermit game.  I did figure out how to fix the last problem about not being able to use items on each other..  For some reason I have to click twice (use-item-item-second item). I'm close to the end of the game now.  Ok, first question- I can't find the mirror, it doesn't say where to find it in the walkthrough. 2- every time I try to get the weight from the bush with the magnet pole, the game freezes up and quits on it's own.  3- I enter 73 on the remote control and it's snow still.  4- I'm pretty sure I had the squid food at one point, and I can't remember what happened to it. It's gone now, and it's gone from the fisherman's shack.  5- What's with the diary? How do you get 73 out of that?  (I'm assuming that's what the diary was about).  6- I'm trying to get the easter egg for the kitchen, but the game won't let me “look” again at the floor.  Sorry about all the questions- I really like the game and I want to see the whole thing, eggs and all!
