Just to the left of the door is a maze of pipes. You have to send the mouse cursor into the maze to resolder the wire. Look at the lower right corner of the maze. There's an open pipe that allows entry. Use the mouse + cursor on it.

I was able to finish game, I did get a bit lost in the maze though
