bug in cirque de zale??

Hope someone can help me.  I'm on the island and have all the items that Dustin needs, but every time I try to give him one the game has an error and shuts down. 
Anyone had this problem before?
I'll post again in a sec with the exact error message (need to go and copy it down).

I played it more than once, and never had that problem. Try to restore from a game prior to come to the island, maybe then it works properly.

This is a bug that occured in previous versions of the game. The latest version is 1.4 and you can download that one now.

[Radiant]

Does this newer version also allow you to click through conversations, or ESC through the intro? Because that would be much appreciated.
