Game "Beasts", now what?

In the Beasts game, we explored the 6 rooms and the treehouse, got the branch and the nail, too, but there seems to be nothing left, and we have a lot of unused implements- branch, nail, rope, paint...  Is there something to do with the fireplace?  Or with the wall in the attic?  Or how to get the wheel unstuck in the basement?

Here are a few hints/tips:

Use the nail in the hole on the wall in basement.  Use the rope on the nail.   Look at the floor in basement... it gives a hint about what to do with the paint.   Have you used the knife on the dead maid?  Use the piece of meat on the end of the rope that you hung.     The branch and matches can be used to start a fire in fireplace.  There are some footprints that get left that should aid you in proceeding with the game.
