I am stuck at the start.

I have the ladder, but scaping around the fractures achieves nothing

Is there a specific action/spot I need to try? Very frustrating. Help appreciated.

the ladder can only go in three places, pick the middle one and try up and a little to the right, basically in the middle of the screen
