5 days HELP! - can't saw tree...

pls help! i'm on 3rd day, i've taken the axe and opened the room door and window. i've spoken to all three of them and philip has tag along and we're at the tree. but why can't i saw the tree?? when i use the axe on tree, it says that doesn't work! =(

You're saying axe but you need a saw.  So I think you are trying to use the wrong object.
