Just Another Point N Click Adventure

I'm stuck on this game, need to get a towel to dry the floor (I know first level, shouldn't be playing and wish there was a walkthrough) but can't reach it down the chute. I've tried giving Alistar the water with laxative in it but then the pill disapears and nothing happens. How do I make him leave the room so that I can steal his cable?

Take Alistairs glass and use pill with it. Then give Alistair cookies you got from your room's rubbish bin.
