I've made it to part 2 of the game, and I've done some things, but can't figure out how to proceed.

I've made a two-pronged key, but lack a power source to open the door it's for. I've put together a makeshift weapon. I've figured out how to make the statue's eyes glow blue.  I'm missing some kind of programmable cartridge. I can't figure out how to open the door in the room with the hole and the crate.

I'm stuck at exactly the same point.

I've managed to overcome being stuck by doing something else and getting back to the game after a while twice now, but I'm really at my wits end here.

In the small spaceship, there's a panel on the floor you can open.

But now I'm stuck again, probably close to the end of the game.

I chose to destroy the ship and returned to the jungle. I managed to get into the room with the crate and the hole, but have no idea what to do in there.

How do you make the key? Is it made from the two metal cylinder things? If so, how do I join them together?

You know that battery you found on the robot? Did you put it in the cartridge machine? Did you know you can remove it from the machine?

To make the alien key, the missing piece is through the iron gate on the other side of the river.

Getting over the pit is a bit of a puzzle:

Move one of the statue heads outside, using something in your inventory.

And if things are still out of reach:

Use screws on the vine, hang the vine down the grate, and then use the device you have that attracts metal to swing over.

Hmm, I put the battery in the programator, but I didn't find a cartridge yet.
I have the key with two prongs and figure I have to open the door in the ship I awoke in, but there's no power. I've removed two panels and opened another one, but the wire is too short and there's no power source.

The first time I even *did* pick the battery back up since it was useless to leave it there without the cartridge. But when I finally put together the key, I had tried so many things in between that I didn't bother and left it in the programator.
I'm gonna cry now.

Ok, I've seen the bad ending. Phew.
Now I'm stuck going for the good one: I'm in the cave with the army chest and the hole, I've combined the bullet, metal rod, gunpowder and screw to a firearm.
What now?

The pipe with the gum will help you fish something out of a hole in the hallway floor - that item will in turn grant you access to the room where you'll find an item to get you down the hole
