Sent out invitation, shredded some paper, cleaned all but 2 cobwebs, the room with the skeleton seems useless and I've tried every item on the skeleton, chairs, cobweb, and with each other. Can I get a pointer?

Well yes I did it all (I think?)... I clicked on the bats, even thought the color of their eyes would be a clue, clicked on them with the invitation I wrote, but nothing.

But she does say she doesn't need one at this time.
Did I miss something?

You probably miss something, or you found an obscure bug.

Solution:

I'm assuming that you have the written invitation, and that you do not have the bat.

Basically you should LOOK at the bat, then INTERACT to pick it up.

Once you have the bat in your inventory, just use the letter on the bat (the one on your inventory, of course).

If this does not work for you, please send me the save file, so I can check what's going on.

The sequence of events is important, you cannot leave out certain actions.

Look at each of the four bottles at the back wall in the first room (the room with the coffin)
