King's Quest 3 + Beta -7 can't get snakeskin or porridge ?

I can't get the snake if i try with my bare hands it says something like it would be dangerous to catch it with your bare hands. And if i try to use my knife i will cut it but the snake bites me and i will die from the poison ?
and it looks like you can't get the porridge yet when ever i click on the babies porridge you end up eating it and the other two are either hot or cold.
