Anyone know how to fix the block and tackle in the clearing? i cant dig for the treasure until its fixed!!

I remember you have to get that other guy to help you Sir.. umm Lord James Bingington!
To help you just talk to him and he will go to the block and tackle site... then you have to
get the bird or sumthing to help you out by giving him some ale. He flys the rope through the
pulley or something...
